Your placement MMR = (1250+S4MMR)/2 + (250-(50*PlacementLosses)) - 150

This is all based on information I have seen in previous seasons. Your mileage may vary, but this tends to give you a good idea of where you are at.

what is S4MMR ? Season 4 what ?

so by this logic, with around 1200 mmr last season (silver 3) I should be 975 mmr with a 3-7 placement score (2 afk games and 3 all but unwinnable due to teammates feeding). Yet I got placed in Bronze 4, which is around a 750ish-850ish MMR.

Not much you can do when 3/5 people count for 2-23-5 in score. The other team is just simple tooooooo fed to do anything but lose at that point without the other team going derp mode and throwing on purpose.
