@Riot Your recent reworks (constructive)

(Long post)

This is supposed to be constructive.

I don't know what you guys think, but i believe Riots focus is wrong in their reworks.

Let's look at a good rework, Sion , he was perfect, he got unique gameplay, got CC, became fun to play. +1 Riot! The Sion rework worked because he got a better kit, his previous problems got adressed. It was a smashing hit.

Now with these recent reworks it most likely will not end in a smashing hit, and i'm not only talking about the Juggernauts, but Miss Fortune, Gangplank and Veigar too. Maybe i can't call MF and Veigar reworks, but close enough.

These champions all lacked mobility before, and they all lack mobility after their reworks, giving champions mobility isn't the answer though, we can't have every champion in the game with a dash. The problem is, they don't get enough in return to make up for being immobile. An immobile champion will never be picked unless he/she has something really sweet to add to the table.

Take Draven for example, he has no gap closer or dash, he has a slight burst of movement speed but that's it, in return, he gets a super snowbally passive combined with tons of damage on his Q, that is unique and fun to play with. Draven isn't that popular though, but that's because he's hard to play not because he's bad. Let's look at MissFortune , in my opinion her kit is very similar to Dravens and they are both immobile with a burst of movement speed. The problem with the Miss Fortune rework (or QoL change) is that it changes nothing, it's not significant enough to make a difference. Her passive sucks, having a constantly increased movement speed doesn't help her out in lane at all. If it would be swapped to her W instead now that would be better, giving her a burst of movement speed for a few seconds would be better than having it on until hit by an enemy. If her passive would instead ramp up her attack damage, now that would be interesting, giving her like 10-40 extra ad (scale with level) that would go away when hit by an opponent, would change a lot, the enemy would need to attack her to take away the extra AD, and her poke and towerpushing would be a lot better. This would give MF a better way to handle the lane and give her something unique. Her ultimate is also a real problem, being completely immobile as an ADC is never good, giving her the freedom to walk with reduced movement speed during her ult channel would go a long way to solving this. Now, this is just an example, i don't care about this change myself, its just an example of what you can do and probably need to do to make an immobile champion viable.

This is the problem is see for the juggernauts, the changes aren't big enough to matter, they won't be over powered and they will still not be played much. They are immobile, they need something extra fun and special to make them worth playing over other champions. Skarner for example, his problem has always been his ultimate, sometimes it's great (especially when ganking), sometimes it sucks (especially in team fights), it almost requires you to flash to get to an important target, and it's so easily interrupted, CC Skarner with anything and his ult will have done nothing, top that with a QSS and his ult is useless. If you want Skarner to be good, you need to get rid of his ult, or make it better, yes i said better, i know a lot of you think his ult is godlike, but being a champion without a dash makes it much worse. These changes to Skarner though, won't change anything, having a ward in your jungle is not enough to pull him through, it gives him movement speed and attack speed sure, but he had no problem clearing the jungle before, you also lowered his base movement speed so his ganks will be worse and his ult will be worse.

Why be so concervative with these immobile champions? Having mobility should come at a price, or not having mobility should be beneficial. Again with the Draven example, he is immobile but gets more damage and can snowball better than other ADCs in return, Ashe is immobile but gets an AoE stun in return, so does Varus , they get it because they are immobile, so they gain something for being immobile. These juggernauts don't gain anything special enough for being immobile. Make champions pay for having mobility or make champions gain something for not having it, and i mean something big, not just a super villain on the enemy team or a few crystals in the jungle, that is not enough.

TL;DR

These reworks won't change anything, make them matter.
