Wait for Season 5 to end (November 11th) that way you'll get your season rewards for being gold. Next season you'll have to play your placements again; the people you play against will be roughly the same MMR (skill level) as low gold players. See where you get placed at the end of those and go from there.
Honestly it's up to you whether you play normals or ranked, but the only way to get better at the game is practice. One thing I have to emphasise is that you don't get too worked up or anxious over ranked, it's not a big deal if you drop a few divisions or a tier. As your skill level improves, so too will your rank.
All people can ask of you in ranked games is that you play your best, you don't troll etc. As long as you're doing that, there's no problem. :)
The fact that you don't think you deserve your rank already speaks well of your potential to progress in League. It's all about maintaining a good attiude critiquing your own play, through that comes self improvement. You will find that often games are unwinnable due to teammates but it's important to criticise your own play in those games too to make sure you get something out of it despite the loss.
Good luck!
