Is Jayce worth maining?

I'm a plat player top/jg main. Every time I pick a melee top laner, I usually get countered with Vayne, Teemo, or Lucian. So I'm looking to main a top laner that can't be abused so much. I thought Jayce would be good so I took the time to get him to level 4. It took a while to get used to pressing so many keys but I finally got the hang of it. The problem I have is getting stunned. It really messes up my combo. I'm so used to Q E W R Q W. If I get stunned, then it messes up my combo. My first W might not go off before I hit R. So I'm thinking maybe I should play a champ that just has to press 4 keys instead of 8.

Any suggestions on what champ I should main top that won't be abused by marksman?

Not in the current meta, no. He's god fucking awful right now. If you're getting bullied in the top lane, play something that's a peel tank Maokai Galio Shen or a something with sustain Swain Vladimir.

If you can get good with him, then yeah. The meta slaves I've usually see normally always lose to the mains of the champion they counter as the mains know how to play around them. Though, in high elos, this may be false since you probably have reached to the limits of your skill cap with said champion till you improve more. The meta changes often, and you're not going to be the best Jayce ever without practice. Personally, I find its better to practice a main out of the meta as you have less competition for the champion and less risk of them getting banned.

Its best to play a champ that you have fun with and willing to take the extra steps to improve. High skill champions is not for everyone if they don't have the time or motivation to master them.
