Do we really have to wait 20 minutes to surrender?

This is a game I just played. We won in 23 minutes. But everybody knew the game was over by 10 minutes. I feel bad for the other team because I have been in their shoes. I have had teams beat us before we could surrender. Riot made the game more snowbally this season. So why didn't they decrease the surrender time? The first vote almost always fails especially if it is cast when people are still alive. Riot needs to decrease the surrender time.

I think 20 minutes is good enough. You may never know how a match might end. You and your team can get fucked hard for the first 15 minutes of the game, but something reeeeeeally stupid happens that somehow turns the match over to you and your team's favor. It games like these that make it very interesting to play.

You could use that same argument to extend it to 30 minutes. Maybe something REALLY CRAZY will happen in that extra 10 minutes to turn it around. You just gotta keep waiting hurr hurr hurr.

There's been games that before the 20 minute mark I thought it was a for sure win/loss. But as the game went on without a ff and the teams fought it started to turn around. And the team that surely everyone thought was gonna lose, won. I think the rule is kinda nice because before teamfighting and late game hits it's almost impossible to 100% tell who is gonna win.

I think 15 minutes is a good compromise. Often, I know that the game is over by 10 minutes, so waiting that extra 10 minutes is rather frustrating, especially when the 1st vote usually fails anyways, which delays it even longer.

I tend to agree, the nature of the game has changed and matches are often decided long before the 20 minute mark, leading to a frustrating 'game' of just trying to avoid getting slaughtered or staying at fountain and getting reported.

15 minutes sounds reasonable; Remember that it is still a vote that requires a strong majority (80%) to pass.

Sometimes you just want to concede and move on to a game where you might win. Just because it's not impossible you might still win if you kept playing isn't a good enough reason for not being able to take the L and move on if you're being crushed.

It should be based off of gold lead, but not a flat gold amount a percentage. If the enemy team as 25% more gold than your total, that should warrant a surrender before 20 minutes.

this sounds reasonable

better yet, a less snowbally version of league would have my preference

eh... i hate that mindset; to surrender at 20minutes mark. As if players have god-like skills thinking they can win within 10-, 15-, or 20-minutes.

INCOMING DOWNVOTES.

Make it 30 minutes, and if you lose before, the loosing team still have to contemplate the destroyed nexus and meditate about the usefullness of throwing a game until the end before they can move on.

Here's how it should go...

Down 10 kills before 20 minutes--- Player can ask for surrender Down 11-20 kills before 20 minutes-- Surrender pops up every 3 minutes Down 21+ kills before 20 minutes-- Automatic surrender

The problem with your idea is that sometimes kills dont matter. You could be down by a lot but if the enemy team doesnt end, you will eventually scale up and if you build tank you can overpower them and win. Also, to comment on the orriginal post, if the surrender timer were decreased, then people would abuse such an early surrender and start 4 manning to dick people over

It should be extremely situational, I've had my team surrender far too many winnable games because we had a little rough start. It should allow 15 minute surrender if there is a 5k gold lead or more.

I agree they need to either change the surrender time or add conditions which would allow you to surrender early.

For example, bot lane dies first blood at 3:00. Adc rage quits. Support then dc's top. Why do i need to wait 17 minutes in a 3v5?? The game is DONE. No amount of "defend and scale up" will bring the team back in this senario and i should be able to leave the game without penalty immediately. Opposed to having to die a ton in an unfair match for so long waiting for 20 min

I understand why this game it would better, but in most games it's good they make it wait until 20. It makes you usually start to at least try to team fight by then.

But honestly, 53 kills in 23 minutes? How does that even happen? And, they didn't even surrender immediately at 20:00 anyway.

1st vote almost always fails. I have learned to wait until my team gets aced before I cast the vote.

Because they want to give the champions who are late-game intended a chance. That idea doesn't really make sense because if you're down 10k gold by 15mins, a late game champ isn't going to make it to late game anyways.

What happened to the 15? Last time I played this game, surrender time had been recently moved to 15 minutes.
