the current system does nothing by promote 1st timers in ranked and its creates nothing but a toxic environment.. people seem to think playing a new champ for the 1st time in ranked is ok

This will probably never happen because it will most likely cut into champion sales.

What’s annoying is having to waste a ban on said new champion because your teammate is hovering (in ranked) and you see they’ve never played them before.... and then they insta lock a troll champion because they didn’t get to play the new one. I personally avoid ranked for a week or two after a new champs released because this happens too often.

I banned kaisa once shortly after her release when my jungler wanted her... I was in in the deciding game of promos and they locked in soraka... why...

So I could first time any other champ, expect new one? Why exectly? It is ok.

Maaan people feed on champs that have been the same for the past ten years. Who even cares about them using new champs in ranked?

Should be global, just require 5 games on a champ before ranked, it's not that much to ask TBH.

Since I started using analytics sites I noticed whenever a team has 4+ people with <5 games on a champ (scarily frequent) they have a 100% loss rate in the games I've played. There's no way Riot doesn't see similar data, so why hasn't this been addressed?

That would be an intelligent decision and Riot's not too fond of those at their company.

2nd timers. [slayer-jinx-catface] They require you play them once before you use them in ranked, last I heard.

I think two weeks might be too long, maybe one week for the time delay. There are a couple people with PBE who have practice and lots of champions have easily transferable skills that won't take a whole week to learn. Hell, I've gotten champions from 0-2 to 7 mastery in under a week so... idk.

But yeah, day one? Hell no.

Why don't you just take a few minutes to learn what the new champ does?

People have asked for this for YEARS. Really shows Riot's priorities now when they won't even take something as simple as this seriously.

LordGeovanni1/26/2019, 1:52:29 AM2 votes

yes and block people whos are skilled in learning really fast and use that to their advantage cause some people get mad when something hasnt passed their arbitrary you cant learn this without X time frame feeling. Not like you can't think this champion has a riven shield an natilus pull with a stun, a line skill shot and uses other champions ults?

Samsunger1/26/2019, 6:00:41 PM2 votes

Ok but instead a better option would be for riot to have you play a certain amount of games on that champion before letting you play the champion in ranked, maybe 5 games.

idk man i just played syl 2 times in ranked for my first time and won both 1st game i didnt do bad 2nd game i did bad. if you can play league you can play almost any champion sense most kits are just other kits put together and his ult is literally a copy ability. they prolly woulda lost no matter who they picked
