What part of PBE Maokai makes him a "Tank" now?

Cz all I see in him now is just some tree-champion casting short-ranged damaging spells & a lane sustain. How can he actually sustain through a teamfight with no inner self-defense kit? Especially when his new ult just seems slow af & still enables the enemies' caught in it to still be able to attack.

If you could at least let Maokai received bonus resistance for each enemies caught in his ult, that would be great.

Because they call him that.

His W allows him to be where the heck he wants to be during a teamfight. Put himself up in front of the enemy casters or whatever and sustain as they focus you. If they ignore you just lock them down with the hard CC and get your teammates to drop the beat down.

He's always had his W though. If anything, PBE Mao is LESS tanky than current Mao by losing his 20% DR.

I'm not gonna do the math but his passive might heal more or less.

he is more of a peel/disengage Tank.

and his passives sustain is pretty big.

He isn't really that much of a tank. If anything, this new kit will make him more of a Gragas-esque brawler. Although the difference there is that Gragas has the CC to go with his decent damage, and his mobility is more accessible/ has more range

having the best sustain in the game helps

He makes a decent bruiser jungler now. Thats about it. I'm kinda curious how he does midlane now, tbh.
