Is Zed a terrible pick in Bronze?

Is Zed only useful in high elo or something?

You can snowball the living hell out of Bronze but then late game your team doesn't take advantage of your plays and doesn't respond to Pings and keep throwing. They can't close out the game. Soon, you get to a part of the game where you are having to outplay the entire enemy team over and over and over again with a kit that's designed for single-target damage and eventually you throw...

at least this keeps happening... Even if early on you can snowball lane, Gank and get double kills, and push down all Tier 1 Towers. Your team blows too much to do anything to close the game.

Also... forget split pushing. Your team won't get it.

Thoughts?

You don't worry about your team in Bronze. You get fed on Zed, you tell them gtfo your lane (make sure you're top or bot) and you go ham.

That way you can split push without having to explain it to them?

Hey that's a pretty good idea. Bronze doesn't understand "Push objectives when they send 2 to me, don't fight... fight when you see I pick one... otherwise..."

but hopefully they understand

"GTFO of my lane"

In higher elo hes generally shittier because if hes strong to the point where hes a threat enemy carries will just counterbuild you. He's not necessarily bad in lower elos but he is restricted to having a kit made to gib really one person, something like Yi would be a lot better as you can have far more teamfight presence than zed would if you're fed

So I'm probably better off doing something like a Viktor or a Vladimir with Ghost so that if it gets to late game I can flank, Ghost in, and AOE nuke their whole team mindlessly?

Nah you generally want more mobility to get fed early. Those are solid carries (very solid actually) but they're moreso get 3-0 and 200 cs at 20 minutes then carry the game 1v5.

Meanwhile something like Twisted fate can sacrifise a bit of farm but get fed while putting the botlane massively behind. If you're aiming for AP mids though the important thing is that you have waveclear, if you're strong but your team isn't you can just sit under tower an 1 hit waves until you're big enough to carry teamfights

If I were carrying out of Bronze, CS-based carries are exactly what I would be using. Players down there tend to roam at awful times, don't shove wave in first and end up wasting time. If one CSes properly, you're going to be fed, because people seem to just want to mash their champion into yours regardless of whether or not it'd be a good fight or not.

As for the original post, Zed isn't advisable in bronze. He requires a lot of mechanical prowess to be worth using.

His E and Q give some good AoE damage in teamfights, and he's gonna be good in a few small skirmishes over a full blown teamfight.

Go bot and oneshot their ADC a few times. If you're team can't win after that massive lead... You're team doesn't deserve to win. But they probably will win.

Maybe I just suck at him (late game) but what ALWAYS happens (normal or Ranked) if I play him... is that he will kill the other laner twice, go bot and get a Double Kill... all/most Tier 1 enemy towers will fall while I still have Mid.

And then we just lose the game.

SOMEHOW.

Like I will play 4 out of the last 6 team fights really well (doubles and triples etc) but then we get to a point where for some reason I can't do it again. They've all got too much life steal, more reliable non-skill shot damage, etc and I just die. My team mates then get caught one by one...

GG

Every time. Sigh...

You gotta roam and get the rest of your team fed. Also, get something from each teamfight you win, be it a drake or another tower or just something. Stay grouped. Never split up unless it's 100% planned.

This is more just, general advice. Anything can win, and knowing how to win isn't specific to any role or champion.

If you are in bronze, I don't recommend that you play him because he is mechanically difficult, especially around team fights.

Try Ryze, he's much safer and does around the same damage but just the same skill-wise.

If you are good w/ him and have 1 or 2 other players that aren't potatoes on your team then yes he can definitely win in bronze, but he can't solo-carry in bronze (if your team never presses the advantages he creates). Talon has the same problem, I've seen so many talons get fed as hell by midgame, talking like 12-3, keep getting kills here and there, but by lategame they other team will have them figured out, lock them down/focus them etc, roll as 5, and their impact goes way down.
