@Riot, Context on the range changes on PBE?

So I just checked up on Surrender@20, and there are a lot of changes to melee fighter/tank ranges. Most of them are buffs (some pretty big) and then a nerf as well. I'm just curious about what is the context on these changes? Is it supposed to be a balance adjustment plain and simple, or is it potentially tied to the "size adjustment update" coming Soon™?

To everyone else, what are your thoughts about it?

P.S. Check out the new skins, they are sweeeet.

Might, just might, be Riot changing the AA ranges from edge of your hitbox outwards to center of your hitbox outwards. Looking at the changes, most of the increased AA ranges are on champions with larger than average hitboxes.

Hmm the one thing I thought made all the Juggernaut's unique. Extra AA range and easily kitable and they just hand out range to every champion. Closing the gap between ranged and melee is a good thing. I just feel they missed the mark on Morde by a mile

They spoke about this a while back, and basically they said having 125 as the range for all melee champions was in retrospect kinda dumb, so they were gonna go back and do a pass on the attack ranges on melee people. Modern champions like Yasuo and Tahm have had melee ranges based on what they actually use to attack, which leads to "sword" and "excessively long tongue" creating longer attack ranges. People like Sejuani just needed to be brought up to that. They said it has potential to make melee vs melee combat more interesting and look more realistic etc.

225 AA range on Naut sounds crazy though.
