About Conqueror and tanks.

First lets look at our beloved top tanks.

1. He got destroyed by recent nerfs because,even after conqueror,he was destroying ppl in lane and was #1-2 priority pick in competitive.As a fellow s5-s7 Sion player I can say that he is one of the safest pick on top and you used to win lane against 90% roster.Watch patch history he got nerfed hard.
2. He got nerfed at 45% wr like 2 patches ago because he was too dominant in pro play,EVEN WITH CONQUEROR EXISTING.He IS still solid pick in competitive,but in soloq there is a little hope for him and no.it is not because in conqueror.In fact I think even now he wins majority of lane matchup with conqueror.
3. He got nerf on PBE right now despite his very poor performance in soloq.But why?Because he is too strong in competitive and shares fate of those above.
4. this dude has like 52% wr even with recent nerfs,he is not even close to being "weak".
5. this annoying Yordle got recently buffed(remember how she was 100% p/b in competitive and riot had to destroy her with nerfs) and she is being picked in competitive again + she is good in soloq too now.She wins against majority of divers and skirmishers.
6. even though he is the most outdated tank - he is still ok in soloq(obviously no picks in competitive).In fact he counters many bruisers.
7. idk why he isnt played more,he is good right now.I think he will be picked soon in competitive again(also he got nerfed constantly because of his competitive performance).49-50% wr.
8. well he is forgotten kinda,i am not sure how good he is,but even if he becomes SLIGHTY decent - he get immideately picked in competitive because of his R and Q.Very risky to buff champion.
9. just got buffed and ,even though his wr in soloq only 47-48%,he is already being pciked everywhere in competitive.Coincidence?
10. Lets say he is tank,just because he is kinda huge meatshield and should,in theory,care about resistances and conqueror.He is super good right now.
11. he is good and being used sometimes in competitive.

You can see very interesting pattern that tanks are always very strong in competitive and they get nerfs BECAUSE OF THAT and many of them are not viable because of that nerfs and not because of conqueror.

Now lets imagine for a moment that Conqueror is removed from the game or nerfed into 1% true damage conversion and 1-5 ad bonus. Lets look what happens to all kind of fighters in top lane.

1. He wont care at all,his most usefull runes are Comet,Grasp and Electro.He doesnt need conqueror to win versus tanks,nothing changes here. 2. He used to destroy tanks b4 conqueror,he wont care at all.He has free 30% armor pen on E and his insane passive+ulti to cut any tank.He care the most about AD on conqueror.Nothing changes for him,he will stil ldestroy tanks. 3. Pta user,she wont care about conqueror removal.She wins vs tanks easily. 4. Removal of conqueror will actually help her,because there will be no longer "noob trap" for her and she will probably use Grasp 90% of the time and she has no problem dealing with any tank(remember her insane % health true damage?She literally oneshots tanks after 3 items).She wont care about conqueror removal. 5. He doesnt care about conqueror at all,he destroys tanks with any rune. 6. He wont care at all,he doesnt need it. 7. uses grasp/phase rush anyway,he will actually like conqueror removal. 8 Does not use conqueror,still smashes every tank.Wont care about conq removal. 9. Non conqueror user anyway.He doesnt care. 10. Non conqueror user.He doesnt care. 11. Non conqueror user.Smashes tanks without it without problem. 12. Non conqueror user,smashes tanks without it anyway.Likes conqueror removal. 13. Non conqueror user.Loses to tanks,nothing changes for him. 14. Non conqueror user.He doesnt care. 15. Non conqueror user.Smashes tanks without it. 16. Non conqueror user.Has no problem with tanks. 17. Smashes tanks without conqueror without problems.Doesnt care if it gets removed. 18. 2 weird bruisers,both dont use it and nothing changes for them,actually helps them more. 19. Remember about his new toy and 50% armor pen on R.He likes Conqueror,but mostly because of bonus AD(with crits its 20-70 bonus remember).He wont have problems dealing with tanks if Conqueror gets removed,but he likes conqueror mostly because of its ad. 20. another crit champ,he likes conqueror because free AD and true damage conversion,with true damage he can deal with tanks.However remember that recent changes.He will still be able to deal with tanks easily lategame,however he wont like it at all. 21. She uses conqueror to win versus tanks,however because of conqueror's trading pattern - Riven players dont really like it.She will still be able to deal with tanks easily on a side lane because of LW revert.She doesnt really mind if conqueror gets removed. 22. Because of LW he can deal with tanks easily anyway.He wont mind conq removal that much,because he really likes PTA. 23. Probably will use LW aswell and likes PTA too. 24. first real loser of conqueror,she wont be able to deal with tanks and she loses lane to them even now anyway,she will be forgotten or be forced to afkfarm. 25. 2nd huge loser.He has no tools to deal with tanks and loses lane to them.Probably he will be forced to pick klepto and afkfarm or PTA and cheese lanes.

So in reality we have 2(of 26) hard losers of conqueror removal:

4 kinda losers,who can still easily win vs tanks and salvage themselves with LW: (+IE)

Others dont really care about it and smash tanks anyway.

Also there is 1 "problematic" ,but he will melt tanks without conqueror too anyway,problem lies in his passive/rageblade + E interaction.He gets around 100 true damage on hit at 2-3 items and with passive/rageblade interaction he does like 500 true damage dps.

Removing conqueror wont save tanks.Conqueror nerfs wont make them viable.You have to remember other changes to the game in recent patches like : + tanks individual nerfs.
