[OPN] Jhin's W and E names should be switched!

Jhin I couldn't help but notice something that something didn't quite make sense with Jhin's abilities. Why would his E be named "Captivating Audience" when he has a root ability? Why would his W be named "Deadly Flourish" when he has a flowering explosion ability?

His E extends a very long distance out into the "theater" and holds opponents in place, "captivating" them, so it would make a lot more sense if his W root ability was called "Captivating Audience."

Likewise, it would make a lot more sense if his flowering explosive trap that bloomed after a delay was named "Deadly Flourish."

Wrong letters, the root is on W, the trap is on E

Also, to answer, the Captive Audience traps slow you down, almost attempting to keep you from leaving the theater, as you are the audience and Jhin is about to perform. As soon as Jhin sees you are ready for the performance, he aims at you and dooms you with a deadly flourish that is so beautiful it leaves you unable to move

Ahem, it's "Captive Audience", thank you very much.

Anyways, good question.

I feel you, it would make more sense thematically

Edit: you should add a poll

Was asking the same question in german boards some time ago, but no one really cared. I got the feeling that the names were exchanged by mistake. You already pointed out that the root is literallly captivating.

The word deadly is more fitting for the traps, too. Especially since they have the passive effect that every enemy killed by Jhin is creating another exploding flower.

Ah, this thread.

  1. You meant W and E.
  2. 75% of the player base agrees with you.
  3. It won't happen until Teemo gets a VGU (or pigs fly, whichever comes first), sorry.

I agree, but the switch probably will not happen.

Dr. Mundo, a very old champion, has abilities names Sadism and Masochism. Sadism is his ult, where he damages himself to heal himself. Masochism is his E, where he gains attack damage. Seems that they got mixed up, since masochism is pleasure of self harm, and sadism is from the pain of others.

I'm pretty sure whoever comes up with the name for abilities is different from whoever designed the abilities themselves. There are a lot of other ability names which seem switched up.
