Why is GA disabled on Twisted Treeline?

Lord Desert··3 votes·1,004 views

Recently alot of items were allowed to be bought on TT, like IE or Thornmail etc. and some got changed, but why isnt GA allowed? I can understand why ZZRot is disabled on TT, but I cannot understand why GA should be disabled. Does anybody know something more about this topic or did they simply forget it? xD

I would like to know why they changed Van Damm's Pillager to a "literally what" item that no one buys, in exchange for IE. All this change does is hurt marksmen, which has always been one of the weakest classes on TT.

Also, why did they remove Sanguine Blade? What champion can afford to build a Bloodthirster on a map as snowball-heavy as TT? Most games are decided by the 10-15 minute mark, which makes it way too lofty of a purchase.

They also never should have brought Thornmail back, as tanks and bruisers were dominant enough without it. Now champs like Poppy can just rush it and there's nothing a marksman can do to stop it.

They might as well bring GA back at this point, as I can't see it making TT's balance any worse, as it's already well out of control.

I think they first removed it since it was just a TT version of IE, like Sanguine Blade for BT. It then got changed to this weird item, which in theory has good stats/effects but is way to unreliable xD

Before Thornmail was finally allowed champs like Trynda, Riven, Master Yi etc. were a real nightmare on TT! Since you dont have enough CC to control them :D Adcs are still viable, but they need a support/support typ champ in the team. Same as on the Rift. Otherwise they cant survive the base dmg and do to little dmg early. But if you pick adcs you are agreeing to: My early/mid will suck, but after 3 items they will beg for mercy!

Not having enough CC for Tryn and Yi has never been a issue for me. In fact, I don't think they've been strong picks on TT since like season 2. Champs like Darius, Poppy, Vi, Illaoi, and Camille are far bigger threats and they all can build Thornmail without sacrificing damage.

They need to remove BF sword and bring back Wicked Hachet. I can deal with Sanguine Blade being gone, but crit itemization is too expensive right now for how fast games end on TT.

EDIT: I've found going full lethality runes makes things a lot easier, but they may be nerfed in the future.

? A decent Tryn/Yi has a good way to survive the burst of most bursters and, if build correctly, enough dps and sustain to kill tanks. They werent top tier picks, but i would say that they are decently strong on TT. Darius and camilie/illaoi are basicly banned 100%, so you have less banns for stuff tryn,yi etc. It was hell to kill one of them without a Thornmail!

I agree that the crit itemization takes a bit to long on TT even if we have a global +3 gold/cs. The old Hachet was better for TT. But i still dont know why they would disable GA xD

But Pillager was a "literally what" item before the change as well. Pillager synergized with AD and crit, but discouraged AS, since it provided a DoT rather than crit damage. That's a strange niche, since AD, crit, and AS are the standard autoattack stats. Having Pillager and IE both enabled might have been considered excessive in terms of crit itemization.

All this change does is hurt marksmen, which has always been one of the weakest classes on TT. Also, why did they remove Sanguine Blade?

It's been a while, but weren't Marksmen+Support comps dominant in high-MMR before the removal? I remember hearing complaints that Sanguine was choking out other options just because of how efficient it was.

I'm not 100% sure, since I played Dominion more often around that point and up until the map was removed. The only Sanguine Blade alternative I remember from back then was Botrk, which I would occasionally build after Brutalizer. Pretty sure BF sword was removed from both maps and replaced with Wicked Hatchet. It would be nice if they could do something similar with BF sword so it could be built from smaller items. Riot seems to enjoy snowbally, fast games as of late, so why not?

Unless you're playing Graves or a tank shredder like Kog/Vayne/Twitch, the only alternative marksmen have on TT right now is to rush lethality, which is situational at best, considering most comps are fairly tanky. Otherwise, they pretty much make the game a 2.5v3 unless the stars align and they're able to secure an early lead.

Enable Dark Seal and Mejai's while you're at it.

and bring back sword of the occult

I think they didnt enable it because it would be to snowbally/ to efficent, like ZZrot.

Perhaps the resurrection offers too much power in a game where its just 3v3?

In a 5v5 you only get a fifth of your teams power back, but in a 3v3 its one third.

I also thought that at first, but on the other if we take someone with high singletarget burst(Hi Syndra), they also delete 1/3 and not just 1/5 of the enemy team on TT. So this cant be the case :/

There is also the "respawn time" and the "low" amount of hp, so cds are mostly up again when the guy comes back alive. This would also reduce the snowballing a bit, hence your team can follow up after you got catched or so.

I can see this items on squishys aswell as on tanks, so this shouldnt be the problem ether. The cd on top is really long especially on TT!

GA can't be allowed in TT because the snowball effect versus all the bots is too strong.

Lord Desert1 votes

Isnt GA anti snowball? You cant be 1 shot bursted, if you get catched your team could follow up while you get revivied, and even when ahead, alot of cds are back up so the guys that killed you will likey kill you again, but the extra time stalled the game a bit longer

Sorry, it was a bad joke about there being a shit ton of bots on TT. They're dumb af and you can derp around and being almost unkillable.
