Help me understand rengar

Recently I've been trying to branch my jungling roster. I've mained kindred since sue was released playing others off and on. Recently I've picked up an interest with rengar. But tbh I don't understand how he can be useful at all. He feels insanely squishy to me when I play him. I jump in, do almost no damage and die.

I do have a comfort level with kindred since she's a ranged champ. But then again when I play people like xin' I can do fairly good.

When a teamfight breaks out and there's no opening for me to jump on a squishy I feel absolutely useless. Any rengar pros out there?

Honestly i could say a lot of things.. I'm a rengar pro HOWEVER i do not play him jungle like at all. I play him top, which late game is pretty much the same. But a much different early game. If you want more information then either add me on league bluefire mark 2 or discord- bluefiremarkII#2898

rengar is an assassin, you don't really want to engage fights unless:

  • someone is out of position and you think you can burst them down (so, probably the adc or apc).
  • you got GA and think your team will follow up
  • you got no other engage tool, in which case you build not pure assassin
  • you are sure you can kill someone that's more important than you (ie: the enemy adc). But if you are carrying the game for your team, that's usually a bad idea since losing the strongest player in your team vs the random enemy adc isn't good unless your team can handle their own in a 4v4 vs the enemies without their main carry

generally you want to avoid team fights and just shadow your solo laner to get kills and then objectives based on that and 5v4 or 5v3 team fights

Here's a few tips: -After the first blue buff, give it to mid. 10% CD on you is okay but mid can make better use of it generally. -Never initiate a teamfight. Ever. 1v2 may be acceptable if you're fed and the person you're not blowing up has no CC. -When ganking, try to save your empowered ability for E in case they flash or dash so you can snare them. -In teamfights, save your empowered ability for your W, it let's you break out of CC and can also give you tons of health back at the same time. -Always take advantage of bush jumping capability. The cooldown is basically zero on it. -Try to get your bonetooth stacks early. This combined with an early duskblade or youmuu's gives you insane damage.

Try watching a high-level player tutorial or stream to get some good gameplay footage and how to go about playing him.

Best of luck! Just kidding, you're a terrible person for playing Rengar ;)
