18 lethality stat items buffed to 20, and then now nerfed back to 18
Was that 2 lethality difference impact a lot or something?

2 is actually a decent amount with how effective armor is against it.
Personally I wish that they'd make more lethality item options with varying amounts and abilities.

I don't think Variable amounts are going to be balanced. The High Lethality items will be favored over everything else. (This was the case with AP itemization, until they made Deathcap the only huge AP item.)
Secondly, having more items means having that much more lethality available. That would likely force Riot to balance Lethality items with smaller amounts, which may affect the kind of power curve an Assassin should have.
Last thing to note, and I don't know how many people have been watching allstars. But the pros seem to have went back to the Lethality ADC meta. (Which feels awkward, since Tanks are still strong, and that people have been complaining about the precision tree being the best.)

It'd be much simpler if they made lethality less effective on ranged champs. I did think originally that more items would mean too much lethality, but realistically if someone only builds lethality items they are going to get blown up faster than the people that they attempt to blow up. That is assuming they don't give a lethality item something like lifeline or armor/mr, then it'd be fucked.
To champions with little-no armor, there is a certain point that is reached with lethality that it already does true damage. After that, any more lethality is wasted and you are just using the AD from the items. It still wouldn't be nearly as effective against tanks as % armor shred is.
Tanks aren't tanks until 10 min which is why they did that
I think it's for the people on boards going "WOAH LETHALITY IS SO BROKEN NERF RIOT PLZ ME LOST BEONZE 4 PROMSO BCOZ LETHALITY TOO GOOD" , so they just made an insignificant change in order for them to stop crying
Lethality should be bound to melee aa and spells. Kind of stupid when panth can spam q and not worry about armor because "Lethality"
...you realize his Q is a spell, right?
Or would you remove it from Zed's Q and Talon's W since they're also ranged spells?

I meant melee spells and yes, remove it from Zed Q and Talon's W please.
There was no comma after "aa," thus the modifier "melee" is also applied to the term "spells."
The condescension isn't necessary. People often don't use commas where they should, especially on the internet, so it was ambiguous. That's why I asked for clarification and used Zed's Q and Talon's W as examples of "non-melee spells" to see if that's what he meant.
Its like saying, was removing 5 damage from Aery a noticable nerf ? it obviously was
They are most likely doing this because Fighter patch is coming and they don't want some of them benefitting too much from the damage of duskblade. Plus, Jarvan is ridiculous with it right now. I know he only gets it when he's ahead, but seriously, it's dumb
Jarvan is ridiculous anyway. i litterally build this
( sometimes i sell boots cause i play with predator/relentless hunter )
and instagib kids.
Or just go straight ad with ultimate hat and the CD rune and bam
If you have predator, doesn't that mean you need the boots to activate it?
by the time i get to those items i have a stacked R.H

Wait, where'd they say the fighter patch was coming?

Patch 7.24b. A bunch of fighters are getting AD buffs, Cleaver will shred 30% armor again
cleaver shreding 30% is stupid it only got that because adcs were using it when it had 60ad which it needs rather than 30% shred because that only causes fighters to shoot themselves in the foot where one fighter goes a full 3 damage item fighter build and the other goes black cleaver and full tank applys black cleaver and leaves it for the adcs and assassins to do all the damage and the fighter who went 3 damage items suffers for it because they end up with only 2 slots for defensive items and defensive boots but their 1 defensive armor item is being made invalid by Lethality Black cleaver and last whisperer items.
Lethality itself was an error
I heard it's because the old masteries used to give 2 lithality
but they already got compensated for that lethality used to be 15 on items then it shot up to 18. Runes and mastery wise compensated while Armor which was mass reduced along with Magic resist got no compensations.
Duskblade takes off 50% of my HP? No problem just give me back 1 effective armor.
Thnx rito
You gotta remember lethality in runes like the domination and precision trees. Taking six lethality away from a full build is pretty substantial, especially since the less stats you have the more %resist you get. Going from 80 armor to 20 with 60 lethality is a much bigger issue than going from 340 to 280. I think it will be nice but honestly lethality does need a limit on ranged champs. But what I think would be even better would be to give MF a new passive because all her reworked Love Tap does is abuse shit until it gets nerfed because she nukes people.
Yes. It is. Numbers that are normally small (or have small variances) have large impacts when changed by 2-5.
2 lethality is a lot. Given that it's actually going to be 4-6 lethality lost.
5 MS is a lot. As is 5 base AD.
These small numbers actually mean a lot more than you'd think.
