Why ocean drake is actually the worst drake

We're going to consider the strengths of the dragon buffs when you have 3 of them.

Let's start with infernal drake because everyone loves infernal drake. Having a 24% increase to your AD and AP is just insane. It's almost like having a deathcap. No one needs an explanation for why this buff is strong; you just deal a lot more damage.

Earth dragon is also really strong but when it comes to taking objectives. It gives you 30% bonus damage vs monsters and towers if you have 3 and the opposing team has to keep a close watch over their towers, dragon and baron because your team will be able to take them in an instant. And if you ace the enemy you can threaten to end the game right then and there. By simply having more stacks of this buff than the other team your jungler can out smite the other jungler assuming they're same level.

Now for cloud drake, the buff a lot of people believe is the weakest, and ocean drake, the buff I believe is the weakest.

Ocean drake gives you a lot of healing; 12% missing health per 5 secs. This is only if you stay out of combat for 8 seconds. Offensively, this buff doesn't do much for you. It doesn't really help you win a game it just makes it so that it's harder for you to be poked down. If you take an empowered from Jayce's cannon you can heal it up through the buff but only if you stay away from a fight for 8 seconds. The opposing can take advantage of this.

Cloud drake gives you 45 bonus movement speed and allows to cross the map much quicker than the opposing team but this also if you're not in combat. This buff helps you offensively and helps you win games. It lets your team dictate when and where a fight starts. Your tanks/initiators can engage the enemy team much easier with this buff. Your carries can avoid being caught out with this buff much easier. Instead of healing up any damage they take, they can avoid damage altogether.

Cloud drake is a lot better than people believe because it helps you win games. Ocean drake is too passive to be better than cloud.

You obviously don't know what you're talking about.

First of all, let's get to what the buff actually does.

"Restores 4/8/12% of your missing health and missing mana over 5 seconds if not damaged by a champion or tower in the last 8 seconds"

That's not the same as being out of combat like Cloud Drake is.

I am a jungle main and Ocean drake is EXTREMELY good for any jungler, specially those who have mana because we can do our camps and then gank without any health or mana problems.

Also, it really helps any mages who have mana issues, specially in a losing lane. If you're a Lux against a Yasuo for instance and he's dumping you, you can stay from far away and farm with your E without going out of mana. It's also extremely useful for any sustain/poke support such as Soraka, Janna, Morgana, Zyra, etc.

I like it a lot on junglers but I don't get your point on almost any of the supports you've listed. Champions like Zyra are basically never out of combat for 8+ seconds unless they're just not in the general vicinity of any enemy champions and at that point the buff is worthless -unless- you're actively trying to heal up for a re-engagement.

And the fact that the best thing we can come up with for this dragon's use is "It's really nice for jungler farming" should probably say something about how weak it is. It is by far the most situationally useful dragon and everyone that isn't the jungler has to go out of their way to get any value from it.

Again, it's not out of combat, it stays on until you're damaged by a champion or tower.

Champions like Zyra can just stay in the backline poking without ever going out of mana because of the dragon. Same for Morgana, but not as good, if Morg keeps spamming her Q she'll go out of mana fast, Ocean drake allows her to try several times, that said it won't make any difference if you're in bronze and your opponents can't dodge lol

Soraka can just keep healing the adc if she stays in the back and not get damaged, and even if she gets damaged after the trade is over the health regen is extremely important for her.

Sorry, I realise that - "out of combat" is lazy wording on my part. It is still unsuaul not to take damage for 8+ seconds though, and going out of your way to avoid that is quite limiting in terms of the laning phase. Most of the dragons don't ask for trade-offs, but with water you must ask yourself if the regen is worth the self-enforced passive playstyle, and if you are comfortable with giving up trades that allow you to take damage, such as procing Spellthief's with auto-attacks. The only champions I think are particularly comfortable with that in the bot lane are Soraka and any player that's chosen Coin as their GP item.

I honestly think the water dragon should be persistent regen regardless of combat, but with much weaker values. If not that, they should lower the required time without taking damage for it to activate. But maybe that wouldn't work.

Mountain dragon's bonus damage doesn't work on smite so you won't auto-win smite battles

It's just better against siege comps in general, and super mediocre against anything else, which is therefore not as practical as the other 3 drakes where against/as any comp those can give you some advantage.

Cloud's the WORST, movement buff outside of combat only.
