Can we make it so we can give a reason why we chose to give a player honor after the match?

It would be nice to let other players know why I honored them after the game. Similar to how we can give a brief explanation when we report a player. "hey I liked your postive attitude" "nice play calling" "you're funny" etc.

I think this would promote a friendly atmosphere

Riot should actually make the honor system something worth noticing, then add this. Also, make it so that you can see who sent you that message.

"i fuckin hate you but i honored you to let you know"

Reazale1 votes

yeah, i guess this is the problem... :'( , maybe some sort of notification that u can click to read if the reason if u want, and it would have the name of the person so u know if its harass... but idk if that would be helpful at all to prevent it.

DeynaTaggerung3 votes

If they felt that way then they would have had the entire game/post screen to do such harassment already, it's so niche that that's unnecessary.

Free honor. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

So being funny and having a positive attitude is the same thing? There are only 3 things to honor an ally for and 1 thing to honor an enemy for. Yet, there are a hundred reasons.

TheJinxedOne1 votes

kind of, people having a sense of humor about things instead of being a douche is a positive attitude. granted maybe they could add categories underneath, but keep in mind the crests of honor balance system, so if nothing else they can keep the general 3 categories and go from there

Sometimes some1 is neutral for most of the game but he goes and does that one single thing that cheers u up and u want to honor that, it would be really cool if u can point out that one moment, sometimes those moments decide a match.

Scazie8 votes

No, because the honour system is pointless. All that matters is that we report negative players, positive players who provided us with good experiences deserve no rewards! But in all seriousness, when I first started the game people used to honour others left and right. Now post lobby is full of people screaming REPORT REPORT.

Riot is working on a system that rewards both the positive players and those who recognize them.

And then they post-pone it for a couple years citing new ideas and technical difficulties

IKR, I used to get like 3 honors a game, now I'm lucky if I get one. And my attitude has only improved from then.

It honestly needs to be more in your face, most people are just gonna gravitate to the play again button over anything else..if they were to give us the ability (within like a match or two) to do it from match history or the recently played tab that might be good too?

That would be nice, the amount of time when I was in a game with some really cool people and forgot to honor is countless.

I find it a fantastic idea.

I am surprised they haven't just removed the system entirely. They've done absolutely nothing with it since launch, and people hardly care enough to click the buttons anymore because it's totally pointless.

It was a nice experiment, but it's time to actually do something with it or just get rid of it all together.

WillHealForHonor1 votes

fak that dumb honor system tho

Pr0t0col1 votes

I think this would be a good idea; but I also feel like the honor system is weak in itself. There's just no reason to honor unless someone does something exemplary like a pentakill. Maybe something like this could boost it's worth though. Good thought

LOL Spammer1 votes

Yeah I think it is messed up that we have so many different ways to report a person but we only have 3 ways to tell someone that I thought they were a good person. Or at least be able to leave a note to them that they can see I think this is what you were trying to say.

Ultîma1 votes

I wholeheartedly agree. More avenues for positive reinforcement within the community would help further instill better sportsmanlike attitude between players.

BlunterMonk1 votes

If someone is such a great person that you feel you should tell them. Then I think you should take the time to send them a message rather than make Riot do it for you.

ArkenStorm1 votes

really though, those 3 options don't really cut it. also the honorable opponent doesn't give you anything to say hey you did good on X

Silverthane1 votes

totally agree with you.

Honorable opponent:

"You were so bad that you lost the game all alone for your team, thx baddie"

.... Its a cool idea but we really shouldnt do that.

Ketchup251 votes

Well as someone said there is already enough time to really flame somebody earlier like in end screen and in game, plus if there is a reward in getting honors you will basically get free rewards from people flaming you, and I would not be sad if that happened.

Lugg1 votes

I give enemy players honor for being great sportsmen and playing their champion well.

I give my teammates honor for great teamwork, great attitude, or carrying the team.

High51 votes

I like he current system. Letting people leave notes could also be abused pretty easily. Not a bad idea, just hard to implement in the right way.

Champion Skin1 votes

Well then again... people don't really have much of a reason to honor in the first place as it is rather meaningless and don't really have much if any effect at all

ShaftyMegee1 votes

As the top post says, they need to make honoring someone worth something. Then they can start adding shit.

Possibly something like if you get a certain amounts of honorable opponents you get some free IP. Idk just a suggestion

A Player has honored you!

+1 Teamwork

Reason: "I hope you had fun hanging out with your squirrel and bird friends in the jungle for the entire game without ganking a single time, I hope you all get cancer and die together in a fire."

OT: As much as i would love to be able to honor and tell my teammates how awesome they were at the end of a game,i think this method would probably be used to easily abuse people without the hassle of having to use the friend request function.

Champion Skin2 votes

Well at least they will make you an honorable player (or well a nice shiny ribbon that say you are a honorable player) while they are messing with you..

Well, it would be easy enough to not give you the message from anyone you have Ignored. That being said, as others have said the game no longer encourages honoring people anyway, so it hardly ever happens.
