New Item Idea: Arcane Belt (Quicksilver Sash Upgrade)

Name is stupid. I am aware, but hear me out for a sec.

With the removal of Deathfire Grasp, Needlessly Large Rod now only has 2 build paths down from 3. Now which OTHER item in the game (other than Phage and Sapphire Crystal) would like a new build path? Quicksilver Sash of course. I always found it odd that there was an AD upgrade for the item but not a complimentary AP version. Because of this situation, if a mage (or any user of AP) wanted to get a Sash, it would just remain like that in the their inventory for the remainder of the game. Now I am not saying an AP version SHOULD BE ADDED NO DOUBT! More, here is an idea, lets discuss.

So for stats and build I'm thinking:

**Arcane Belt **

Build Path: Needlessly Large Rod + Quicksilver Sash -> Arcane Belt -Total Cost 3700g -Combine Cost 850g

Stats: *+100 ability power +35 magic resist Active: Unique Active – Quicksilver: Removes all debuffs from your champion and grants +50% movement speed for 1 second. 90 second cooldown *

So what do you guys think?

It's useful sure, but sometimes all it does it stall the inevitable. It's a great item no doubt, but I don't get why one class MUST have this item as defense and the other class MUST have this other item. Makes builds boring and linear.

AP itemization doesn't need buffs.

cough mana regen nerfs cough

Seriously though giving them a bit of a boost after that would be appreciated.

Zed being OP isn't a good enough excuse for mages needing to endlessly spam again.

Why does it need to be crippling to cast a spell or endless stream of bullcrap? Can't there be a middle ground? It's not just Zed by the way. It's pretty much all energy and resource-less champs that are starting to push all mana mages out of mid. If there is anyone to describe as "endless spam" it's them.

If an adc wants the zonians active they have to build ap

If a mage wants qqs active they can have(cheaper) it but will have a "wasted" item slot

This item would be directly competing with item 3001 and item 3157 , yet manages to be weaker than both in several ways.

No go. If it's building out of item 1058 then it needs to be a 120 AP item.

I think the answer to "what item should replace DFG" may come from looking at the AD max damage line up though:

  • item 3031 is the AD equivalent of item 3089
  • Both serve to amplify the other sources of damage you've built.
  • item 3139 is the AD equivalent of item 3157
  • Both provide maximum offensive stats in their tech tree, as well as defense against the other tech tree. Additionally, they both have an active intended to get out of sticky situations.
  • item 3508
  • If translated to the AP line, it would suggest an item with Spell Vamp, CDR, Mana Regen, and 120 AP.
  • item 3072
  • If translated to the AP line, would provide Spell Vamp, 120 AP, and some sort of defensively oriented passive that rewards the player for continual harass.
  • item 3153
  • While not a max AD item, it has enough strengths to make it a viable first pick on many champions. The percent health damage, the attack speed, the life steal, the damage, and the active make it an item that's hard to translate 1-for-1.

With the mana regen nerfs, the removal of a 120 AP item, and the lack of many appealing options for Spell Vamp, an AP version of the Essence Reaver would be coveted by many. Whether it's balanced or not would be another matter, but I would be interested in knowing how such an item would pan out.

I really don't like the idea of the entire AP lineup being trapped into buying item 3157 item 3089 item 3135 item 3020 (and item 3165 if they're a mana user) every game. Some options would be greatly appreciated.
