To ADC mains, their ability to deal 1k+ crits by right clicking opponents from range is completely fine.
Akali is overloaded as a champ, but I'll take her over a rakan+xayah or Nautilus+Cait/MF.

Yasuo windwall and akali shroud are the biggest examples of champion abilities that require you to play smart into them and do something different, and players dont like that. If they cant do what they always do, it "cant be countered and needs to be fixed".

No, there are counter play options to those abilities.
Windwall blocks projectiles from going through it. If youre a projectile heavy kit, you dont commit your entire kit to a single assault while it is off cooldown. If youre a ranged champion, you dont commit to a fight while it is off cooldown.
Akali shroud grants invisibility in a specific area. It does not grant invulnerability, and restricts her movement if she wishes to remain invisible. This leaves her exceptionally vulnerable to area denial abilities and vision reveals.

I did not state waiting out the duration of the abilities as counterplay.
Windwall is only an issue if you use your entire kit into it. Not wasting long CDs or overstepping to be out of position and losing your skillshot CC to it is counterplay. You can counter other players by NOT using an ability. This is usually done on hook champions or champions with skillshot CC in general. Walking up to someone without using your CC forces the enemy to often dodge themselves to death and play suboptimally, hoping to dodge the skillshot you are holding onto. Likewise, yasuo will often eat skillshots for free as he has to hold for a major skillshot instead, or lose all priority. He will eventually be forced to use it regardless, leaving him open to all attacks for 20+s.
Akali, again, is completely countered by vision reveals, of which there are numerous sources between champion abilities and summoner spells; even item purchases on certain modes (namely aram atm), displacements, or area denial abilities.
Both windwall and akali shroud also let you just freely walk away. The defensive boons of them only apply to that one specific area.

Use a 3 minute cooldown on her for a few seconds, most of which she will likely just use one of her 3 unconditional dashes to escape from. Or to use a champion that never uses a targeted ability.

I ask because instead of countering her, players need to figure out the matchups and if she hard counters your champ (because you are a top and top has a lot of hard counters) you need to go to your backup champ.
Worry less about the counter, unless you are top, and worry more about playing the matchup.
