To ADC mains, their ability to deal 1k+ crits by right clicking opponents from range is completely fine.
Akali is overloaded as a champ, but I'll take her over a rakan+xayah or Nautilus+Cait/MF.
Any champion that has a mechanic that no longer allows you to auto or qwer them gets complained about.
Yasuo windwall and akali shroud are the biggest examples of champion abilities that require you to play smart into them and do something different, and players dont like that. If they cant do what they always do, it "cant be countered and needs to be fixed".
people will complain about anything that isnt able to be killed while blind folded, it doesnt matter how balanced the champ is or how much counterplay exists people will still complain about them its just how its always been.
Or... Just ban her with 
till they both have 100% ban rates so riot actually fixes them...

So you’re only option to beat a champion should be to play a select 3 champions with true sight that isn’t reliant on targeting. Use a 3 minute cooldown on her for a few seconds, most of which she will likely just use one of her 3 unconditional dashes to escape from. Or to use a champion that never uses a targeted ability.

imo caits traps are supposed to hurt, after all you can see them. and avoid them.
some skins even make them shine so you cant even "place them behind the tower" as the shining effect goes THROUGH the tower.
i personally dont even mind akali, i can "usually" wreck akali in lane as vel'koz even, but im sure if i was playing against a higher elo akali that actually knew how to play her i would be eating my words haha
Which champs are you playing?
I ask because instead of countering her, players need to figure out the matchups and if she hard counters your champ (because you are a top and top has a lot of hard counters) you need to go to your backup champ.
Worry less about the counter, unless you are top, and worry more about playing the matchup.
