Considering that one big influence on Ionian culture is Japan in the real world and people in Japan bathe fairly often, I kinda doubt that this is true. Ionian women are probably the cleanest in Runeterra together with Piltovans.

Actually, I just recall a single story in which a champion is mentioned bathing. And that one champion we have an example of them bathing is in fact Ionian. It is Ahri, to be explicit.

You can read it here.

And just because we don't see the daily routine of champions doesn't mean it doesn't happen. We also never read or saw someone going to toilet. But they most likely still have to.

This explains why Sona couldn't get adopted, except by somebody who literally bathes in perfume. Couldn't smell her over her own stench.
