Banshee's Veil VS DFG

So with the removal of DFG from SR, I want to ask what riot thinks of BV. Let's look at the active and think of a scenario. Assume that the mage has a DFG and the carry has a BV. Give the mage the benefit and assume that mage has ulti up. Give the carry the benefit and assume that the mage's ultimate does not do significantly more damage than the mage's other skills. BV's active nullifies 1/4 (4 skills) of a mage's damage from a full rotation... That's 25% damage decrease in terms of burst on a squishy target. DFG's target is on a higher cooldown increases damage by 20%. .75*1.2=.9. The 15% max health magic damage is not significant on a squishy (and against a tank the damage would be less than 15% b/c of mr). Banshee's active is way stronger in a 1v1 fight than DFG. Now you might say opponent itemized against mages, he/she ofc should come out ahead. The antiresist part is the itemization against mages, the active is just a bonus that works against all skills (not just magic damage skills). Don't get me wrong, I love the item and I buy it all the time and it saves me from a lot of cc. Its active is unique and cool. I'm also not against tank items. In fact, I think ARMOR tank items are underpowered. I just think it's ridiculous that a carry can just purchase one item and nullify the power of a mage whose whole build is built upon killing the carry.

BV can get popped by too many useless skills for it to be reliable counterplay. Would be better if it was an active ability that you could choose when the shield came on

I don't think Banshee's Veil is anything but annoying and not a particularly good resistance item unless the enemy has high impact spells that you have to dodge or nullify (Amumu's ult/Q, Blitz's Q, etc.) but it can be popped quite easily. It's usually better to get a GA if you're ADC unless you have high survivability in teamfights and just want to become an appealing target for assassins and mages.

The problem with the math tho, you are making BV take away a damage spell. Imagine viegar, his stun cancels the BV so then he gets to do DFG + Q + R (can do W if he places it right)...its not really a difference. Lets say Ahri now, her charm gets rid of your BV, then she DFG + Q + W + R 3 times. Most AP champions that use DFG can kill you in less than 4 spells with it anyways, even LeBlanc can kill you with just DFG + Q + R. she can use a chain or jump to get rid of your BV. whichever spell she doesnt use to get rid of your BV she can use the other for additional damage. So math doesn't work in these scenarios.

so with veigar in that scenario you get 100% less ap scaling + whatever base damage on a full rotation
