How to carry as support?

So I was playing on my unranked smurf account today, trying to practice my thresh mechanics. My final score was 10/9/39 in a 50 minute battle. We ended up losing the battle. My team insisted on going for picks around the map instead of focusing objectives. I had to solo kill towers. Even if we scored a clean ace, my team would recall, at full health, with full build. How can I carry as support? If my team doesn't know how to end, how can I try to carry without doing some stupid shit like full AD thresh? Thanks for responses.

Build Banner and Zzrot. Place both inside a lane your team isn't fighting in. Push the other lane that your team isn't in. GG. You'll either force their team to go to where either you or your banner + Zzrot is pushing or you'll push for the win. Wherever their team goes, your team will likely follow.

Well I guess thats low elo. Me being in only Bronze 1 and playing normals, I can admit that I don't full give the importance I should to objectives, im working on that, I would try to tell my team what do to or do what Chimpanturticorn said.

Well first off, you shouldn't be solo taking towers lol. Try and focus objectives and get your team to play the right way, but if they aren't there's nothing you can do but follow them. Second I'd be curious to see your build (I'm a diamond/master thresh 1 trick sadly usually diamond rip) so maybe that's the problem idk probably not. At the end of they day if your team is going to be stupid there isn't all that much you can do. Maybe just constantly ping or something I really don't know, I've never been placed in bronze. If you want any tips or anything I'd be more than willing to help have a 67% winrate over 600 games across my accounts. Add me on my smurf Moooose2 that I'm messing around on.

With those stats it sounds like you did carry. Were you any other champ in any other lane, I doubt you would of won the game anyways. You had a team who lacked discipline.

always push an advantage no matter how small.

Just because you are a healer support doesn't mean sitting on your ass keeping someone alive is a guaranteed win.

-After winning trades keep the victory going by using autos, or point and click damaging spells whatever gets the job done. Just because you won the trade doesn't mean you won the lane.

-Don't just toss shit out when you have it off cooldown Janna and Nami players love tossing their bubble or tornado out for no reason wasting their mana and cooldowns when it is needed.

-FOR THE LOVE OF GOD stop using exhaust near the end of a fight. why is exhaust being used when someone reaches 10 hp STOP THAT. use it mid fight to change the tide of battle. exhaust is for mitigation not saving.

-look for the most important person on your team and protect them at all costs. ADC is not always the important person to protect if they are trash they are trash.

item 2055 early lane phase is actually dope now. toss it in a bush after you win a trade or at the very start of lane phase in the bush closest to you and clear out the beginning yellow trinket for an easy 5 gold 10 gold if both of your opponents do it. its also a nifty pseudo shield if you walk over it sometimes people will attack the ward instead of you.

-just because you are a support doesn't mean you can't stop objectives. If you see a rengar with 30% health trying to do a dragon just poke him and make him go away or die. But don't chase that shit will get you killed.

Zz'rot is a very handy tool! Also check out The Strategy Professor on the YouTubes. He's a diamond support main that does extremely in-depth detailed videos on how to play and carry with support. A big thing of his for winning as support even in solo queue is map pressure, so he goes into Zz'rot and Banner. He also does great gameplay commentaries on various supports.
