Reworked Leviathan Item?

So, as I understand it, the old Leviathan was removed because it was A: unpopular and rarely used, and B: too snowbally because of its interaction with Atma's.

The unpopularity was due to it being a niche item as well as having to be weak because of its synergy with atmas to snowball out of control. Now that Atma's is gone, I believe it is time to bring back Leviathan. AP supports frequently buy Mejai's because of its stacks for assists, and I think Leviathan could be tailored much more specifically towards utility tanks/tanky supports, with a simple change like this: The stacks it gives increase your bonus HP by a percent per stack (say 1.5%) with a flat amount of health (300) and a max of 20 stacks. At max stacks it would give 300+30% bonus health.

Defensive stats exist to let you do as much work as you can before your inevitable demise. Leviathan was an item that gave you tank stats if you managed to stay alive, but punished you for dying.

In short, it promoted playing like a sissy and that's not a good play style for tanks.

That makes sense. I just wish people would actually SAY that instead of "oh it was too snowbally for the game" and stuff like that. This is all the answer I need, and I wish people would just say outright why something won't work more often like this.

Upvoted for good reasoning... actually, I want to change my vote. I voted for "like this suggestion," but I'd prefer a different implementation. Perhaps an item that gives 1 stack for kill/assist and loses 1 stack for a nearby teammate's death? The 20 stack bonus can be an aura that regenerates a % of the user's max health in a moderate AoE.

So this is sort of the issue with it, and the same issue would occur with your iteration. I think SivHD put it better, though: "What counters it? Dying. What does it prevent? Dying."

In short, it's good for going t-t-t-triple stacks, but not really good for anything else.
