Skill Shots
Hey guys,
so I've been thinking quite a bit about the structure of the game and I think that a perfect solution to making this game better is by removing (or significantly reducing the number of) clickable abilities. It is so much more fun/interesting of a game to play when you can actually outplay your opponent consistently.
For example, I feel that a good change to Master Yi
would be to make his q a skill shot. How, you ask? Well it would be a dash that, if hit on an enemy, would turn into the q that we know and looooove cough cough today.
I really like the move of turning of Veigar's Q into a skill shot. It does even more damage now and it more rewarding to hit, but at the same time it can be dodged. With that change, there is outplay introduced into the game -- which I feel is a necessary part of distinguishing skill among players.
In the worst case, if Riot really wants to keep a clickable ability, make it a very fast travelling skill shot, so it can be easily hit.
This kind of brings of 2 points about this game and one is Flash
. Very often when I am in game (say I'm playing Blitzcrank
for example), there are champions on my team which don't require any skill at all. There is very little reason to flash or use summoner spells to counter them. The result of this is that when I make a good pull, the enemy team immediately flashes from my grasps, avoided my e knock-up. They don't need that summoner spell anyway because they can't dodge a Ryze
W anyway.
The second point is outplay. I'm really a fan of the champion Vayne
for her tremendous outplay potential. She really allows me to use my brains to think about what the enemy will do, and attempt to counter it. I LIKE the fact that she is very squishy and fragile so that if you make a mistake, you are screwed, but the reward is great when you operate her flawlessly.
Perhaps another change that can be made when everything is a skill shot is to increase the base movement speed of all champions by say 50-70. I think that this would make early game less dreary and more eventful. You could actually have faith that you would dodge a skillshot in the early game.
CASE AND POINT:
I'm not saying remove Veigar
ult and make it a skillshot, or saying that Zed's
Deathmark should have the same fate. But overall, there is no need to have champions with so little ouplay in League of Legends.
