Does Riven need a buff?

Riven is still RIven with Riven's kit but lets face it, she doesn't scale into this tank meta and at best is a very situational champ that has dropped in popularity. (Aside from the playboy bunny wannabes.)

Riven is still good, only thing is that she doesnt fit in the meta and by not fititng in the meta really doesnt warrent a buff.

IMO it kinda does just because top lane tanks are what's gucci. She isn't really jungle anymore and is every situational top.

I'm trying Riven jg recently, it just doesn't go well.

She doesn't need a buff, she's completely balanced. But its just that they balance Riven to the players who know how to play Riven. So players trying to pick her up will fail horribly, especially because of her lack of sustain which makes it so she has no 'good' match ups right now. Her lack of sustain right now is something that keeps her out of the meta, but that doesn't mean she needs a buff. Also this isn't the balance forum, this is a hive mind of idiots who all agree that Riven takes no skill, and Yasuo is the most balanced thing since veggie only diets.

Riven will seem pretty weak with a novice Riven player, but with a more experienced player she is incredibly strong, it's like a night and day difference.

When Riven is popular she is played by incredibly toxic people. So much that we have a meme for salty Riven players.

I'm fine with her not being a popular pick right now.

Riven is fine. She's just ridiculously hard to play and squishy. But the meta just ain't working out for her atm.

That's what I thought... I mean you can look at the game on two sides..

1.) You've got the tank meta which still works and Rito keeps buffing the other tops like illaoi an so on.

2.) You've got the armor pen attack speed meta.

Riven fits into neither of those. She's not a tank and she sure as shit doesn't build attack speed outside of Ghostblade. Even with a Ghost nerf, she still really wouldn't fit well into that meta because she still has to compete against Jax, Xin, Yi, and ADC's capable playing top and jungle.

As far tops go now, the hypercarry squishy guys like Ireila, Fiora, shit even Jax and Xin all outscale her.

The thing is, Riven would be viable if it weren't for that fact that tanks deal as much if not more damage than actual fighters. Played vs. Nautilus (I'm an extremely bad Riven), but he just 3 hit me and it was gg. I will never understand why tanks are able to deal so much damage.

Fiora/Irelia/Jax are good duelists and don't really need many items. Playing top vs. tanks is NP for them. Riven just doesn't have the damage/survability early game. Most of the time she will just fall off. It's a shame because when I do decide to try Riven I just feel useless the entire game. I think a tank rework is in order.
