Changes to the Cannon Minion?

I read something about this on a forum I frequent and haven't seen it myself but is this actually true?

The original topic I saw being posted was...

> "Has anyone seen the cannon minion changes? It seems that now, instead of spawning every 2 waves after a certain time. They now spawn in every wave after a certain time. However, THEY NOW ONLY SPAWN IN ONE LANE AT A TIME!?!?!?!? This means that you will get a cannon in your lane every 3 waves now, which means less gold. The cannon starts at bot then goes mid then top and resets. > > Get this too. Turrets now give a first blood bonus. Riot also is making bot lanes turret less tanky than other turrets. > > Pretty much riot is saying whoever has the better bot lane wins and your early game is fucked if your bot lane loses. Time to camp bot"

I don't see this helping anyone at all even if it changes pro play. 1% of the LoL community are actually pro's lol.

Every other game someone gets behind and they need the cannon minion gold and xp to boost themselves back up faster. If you eliminate the option to do that you're killing any hope of lanes recovering.

If the goal is to actually end lane swapping Rito needs to revert back to lane oriented champions. Not allowing champs to have a useful kit outside the lane they were designed for.

you only get a cannon minion wave every third wave right now, not every second wave, only the timing you get it changes, which doesn't affect players at all. It might affect the first buy a little bit in the highest level of play, where you have a set timing to go back and buy your first item, but lets be real here, below high master everyone misses cs and it wont affect them.

The tower buff now only lasts 5 minutes, which means all turrets will be equal after minute 5, top bot and mid will all be equal.

if your bot lane gets sht on to the point they lose turret at minute 5, you will lose regardless of giving first tower blood.

Cannons always have come every 3 waves, the pattern only changes after 35 minutes I believe at which a cannon comes every wave

i think it changes at 20 min too where it goes top and bot mid top and bot mid

They are doing this because it needed to happen. LCS was just lane swapping and turret trading until 18 minutes into the game.

It's going to have almost no impact on the lanes. Sure less xp and gold is going around but that's like 50 g every couple of waves.

They can spare that one extra cannon minion, it's going to be fine.

That makes no sense in relation to lane swapping. Are you saying that off meta picks can no longer exist becasue of a lane swap? Designing a champion into a lane and then going out of their way to make sure it can never leave that lane is a terrible idea.

If you watch pro games you will see that one of the first things that happen in almost every game is that one team will focus on one lane and take down that tower well before first blood is drawn. At the same time, the other team is either attempting to push down a different lane to take down their turret, sacrificing their turret for or attempting to take another objective for an EVEN trade. This is what they are trying to change. By making the first destroyed tower grant first blood gold it be comes a more important priority, meaning it will no longer be an even trade.

Back to the same point I made earlier, you will often see teams abandon one or two lanes to focus down a tower, and in order to avoid a stalemate, it is most often not the same lane as the other team. By making bot lane towers more vulnerable, the bot lane will be less likely to be abandoned for this reason. In fact, it will be more likely to be focused for this reason. ... Which actually means it will most likely become a stalemate. So I would really expect these changes to impact the early game pro strategies.

As for the cannon minions, .. I honestly don't see this change as that big of a deal. It could possibly cause mid lane's gold to be very slightly delayed, and top lane's to be slightly more delayed still. Ultimately I think it will continue to balance out. I think the more interesting part will come from the 20 minute mark where top and bot spawn cannon minions, then mid, then top and bot, then mid, ... , and 30(?) minute mark where every lane spawns a cannon minion every wave. This will actually increase gold income potential toward mid and late game, as well as increasing minion wave siege power.

See the imbalance you speak of I do not see stemming from gameplay. I see it stemming from Rito trying to make champs have multiple roles.

Anytime that a champ can build two or three ways it usually means they need nerfed and this same exact shit was AP yi in s3. Why Rito continues to alter gameplay and champs evades my reason of logic.

I don't see how any of these changes will hinder or benefit any champion's ability to have multiple roles. The best argument I can see for that is a gold dependent champion will have a very slightly delayed scale in power if they aren't in bot lane. Even then, this difference is negligible to someone who simply doesn't do a good job of csing properly.

On the flip side, bottom lane now has an advantage of getting cannon minions first. Keep in mind that every opportunity for an advantage is also a disadvantage. I'll give an example. Kindred gets marked jungle camps that will greatly benefit her for killing them. The enemy is aware of which camp is marked. They can use that information to know where she will be likely to go in order to take that advantage. She is then placed at a disadvantage because she is vulnerable to being ambushed, or simply wasting her time if the camp is already gone or contested. Bot lane has an advantage of facing a weaker tower, but they have a disadvantage because they are defending a weaker tower. Having a natural tenancy to get ahead early will encourage your enemy to put effort into keeping you behind. Ganks may become more likely in order to counter this advantage. Successful ganks will be far more likely to result in first blood (coming from champion kill or a lost tower). The vulnerability of your tower will make it more punishing for you to lose to a gank or being forced out of lane, leaving your tower defenseless. Advantage/disadvantage.

There is also an advantage to other lanes. With bot lane now being more of a focus, it is less likely for top and mid lane to be focused, relieving early pressure naturally. This actually makes farming early easier to do without being harassed, .. meaning you may actually end up getting a gold lead over bottom lane.

As for the first two points from my previous post, ... I really don't see this happening so much in non-pro games, so I think the impact will be small. In most cases, first blood will still come from a champion kill, and lanes will still push out as a result of snowballing. However, bot lane may still be a little more vulnerable. May need to be watched a little more by the jungler or roams from mid.
