It's bloody hard to get back into LoL after a year long hiatus...I wish laning wasn't so long

Seeing Jhin, that dragon that took who knows how many years of teasing before releasing, etc. I decided to have a bit of fun and play LoL again.

But with the item changes. Mastery changes. And all the little new meta game changes...god damn is it hard to get back into the game. Apparently last-hitting and just plain laning is a skill you need to constantly hone like I did back in the days, because god damn is it a lot harder to do now compared to years ago!

From a returning player's perspective, it seems like the early-laning phase when your items are still crap and you're more focused on last-hitting is the most difficult part of LoL to access for beginners. Mechanically, it's simple. But in practice, you really needed to practice as much as I did years ago in order to get good at it.

Not much has really changed, they strengthened mages and have a lot of bruiser items. Mechanically unique champions like Jhin, Illaoi, Bard, Taliyah and Aurelion Sol should not be played unless you've had extensive practice with them.

Just keep playing the usual champions, just know that most of them are stronger than they were and that Vayne is shit if you're not a god.
