Problematic Champions? Who needs the good ole nerfbat?

Lately, I just can't even decide who to ban in my draft lobbies. There's way too many champions who play the game for the summoner, it's ridiculous. I'm just not even sure where to begin.

So my goal here, is to compile a list of the most oppressive, anti-fun, problematic champions with kits even more overfilled than triple-stuffed Oreos.

Perhaps I will add a poll or something, but for now, let's just discuss it. Which champions do you find the most CertainlyT(oxic) right now, and why?

Personal Picks: Fizz JarvanIV Kalista Leblanc LeeSin RekSai Riven Vi Zed

Remember, these are just my own opinions. I will keep a list at the TL:DR of my post for champions mentioned a lot in responses to this thread.

As you can probably tell, I'm not a big fan of overly mobile kits. But at the same time, some highly mobile champs are not listed (Kassadin Gnar Ezreal etc). This is due to the fact that the listed champions have better kits, with more damage, tankiness, and utility, while not being punishable in the slightest. Champions outside of these 9 can -usually- be punished for mistakes, shut down, or zoned. But these 9, either cannot, or are not effected by it in the slightest.

TL:DR (Who is a Problematic Champion?)

  • Annie 1
  • Tibbers Stun
  • She can just use E to get the last stack moments before casting it
  • AoE nuke too strong to get a stun like Veigar's, especially when she can delete multiple people.
  • Suggested Fixes:
  • Make Annie lob Tibbers like she did in the cinematic and then refocus some of that power to enhance other skills, possibly E

  • Azir 1
  • Attack Range
  • Mobility
  • Damage
  • Safety
  • Suggested Fixes:
  • Reduce Soldier Damage by 30% - The Paulrus

  • Fizz 1
  • Untargetability
  • Suggested Fixes:
  • Allow AoE to damage him during Playful/Trickster - The Paulrus

  • Kalista 3
  • Speed
  • % health damage
  • Passive
  • Mobility
  • Out-smite better the jungler. I saw a suggestion to cap her E damage at smite's damage so she can't out-smite junglers. I'd be a fan of that.
  • Suggested Fixes:
  • Reduce % damage from passive/rend by 75%. - The Paulrus
  • Cap her E damage at smite's damage so she can't out-smite junglers. - Volt Cruelerz

  • Katarina 1
  • Mobility
  • High Ratios
  • Shred you with her ult before you can channel a hard CC to stop it.
  • Suggested Fixes:
  • Decrease # of attacks per second on Ult -The Paulus
  • Reduce the # of seconds the resets reduce the cooldowns by 5 - The Paulrus

  • Leblanc 3
  • Mobility
  • Unpunishable/No Counterplay
  • Suggested Fixes:
  • Add a delay of 1.5s before she can TP back to her decoy. - The Paulrus
  • Buff Galio - Volt Cruelerz

  • LeeSin 1
  • Mobility
  • High Ratios
  • Sustainability
  • Suggested Fixes:
  • Whack with the Urgot sized nerf-hammer -The Paulus
  • Nerf ratios -The Paulus
  • Remove Ward Hop -The Paulus

  • Nidalee 2
  • Toxicity
  • Mobility
  • Long Ranged Nuke
  • Suggested Fixes:

  • Riven 1
  • Too much CC
  • Too much Shield
  • Too much Damage
  • Suggested Fixes:
  • Should have high damage output or easy CC. Not both. Reduce damage ratios. - The Paulrus
  • Vayne 1
  • Invisibility
  • Mobility
  • % health damage (True Damage?)
  • Too much on one kit, especially one with range.
  • Suggested Fixes:

  • Vi 3
  • Too much sustain
  • Too much armor shred
  • Too much mobility
  • Lockdown ult.
  • Suggested Fixes:

  • Zed 3
  • Too much AD
  • Too much Mobility
  • Too much Safety
  • Suggested Fixes:
  • Remove unnecessary and uninteresting attack damage steroid passive. - The Paulrus
  • Reduce his Q's range by 50, force him to actually earn kills. - Volt Cruelerz

My Top 10 (In order of the severity of their problems) LeeSin - WAYYY too much mobility, too high ratios, and far too much sustain. Needs to be whacked with the Urgot sized nerf-hammer. Can engage and disengage without a worry. Nerf ratios/remove ward hop. Azir- Ridiculous attack range, mobility, damage, and ridiculous amount of safety. Nerf solider attack damage by about 30%. Riven -Too much damage with the shield/CC. Should have high damage output or easy CC. Not both. Reduce damage ratios. Leblanc - Far too mobile. Too easy to disengage. Add a delay of 1.5s before she can TP back to her decoy. Katarina - So much mobility mixed with ridiculously high ratios. Can shred you with her ult before you can channel a hard CC to stop it. Decrease # of attacks per second on Ult and reduce the # of seconds the resets reduce the cooldowns by 5. Zed - Too much AD/mobility/safety (seems to be a pattern here). Remove unnecessary and uninteresting attack damage steroid passive. Fizz - Troll pole untargetability is a bad thing. Should at least be damaged by AOE and affected by AOE CCs since you're not targeting him, but the area. Kalista - Speed, % health damage, ridiculously overpowered passive. Rito needs to beat her back to the shadow isles with the nerfbat. Reduce % damage from passive/rend by 75%. Vi - Too much sustain/armor shred. Too much mobility as well as the lockdown ult. Vayne - Invisibility, mobility, % health damage. Too much on one kit, especially one with range.

The main pattern. Too much mobility for a power/cc amount. Riot needs to basically work on kits that are either, high damage/low speed/low utility, low damage/low speed/high utility, low damage/high speed/low utility, moderate damage/moderate speed/moderate utility. Speed should be the tool of a jack of all trades. If a champion can easily outburst you, they shouldn't be able to outrun and out-CC you too.

I can understand most of those, but you do realize that Azir is trash right now, right? Or do you just want to see him hit single-digit win rates for shiggles?

I usually don't ban Fizz, Rek'Sai, Riven, J4, Lee Sin or Zed, because I'm confident in outplaying them.

You cannot outplay a LeBlanc or Vi. One deletes you without notice and the only tactical counterplay is them messing up, the other presses R to win and even has good autoattacks and sustained damage in case you survived. Of course, there's strategic counterplay to LB (pushing hard), but LB also has strategic counterplays against that - abandon turret, roam, get fed off ganks and then come back to wreck you.

Kalista is always a gamble. She either will feed hard, or get incredibly fed then every melee on your team is instantly trash. Why risk it? But of course, there's also Nidalee, which combines the extreme toxicitiy of mobility with a long ranged nuke, so depending on what I feel, I'd probably ban Nidalee over Kalista.

I can see your point with that. I was tempted to put Nidalee up there, but since I usually don't have much of a problem with her since the rework, it's alright.

Most Nidalee's are stupid, and once they mark you under tower with low HP they'll try and jump to you. Just flash over them, let the tower unload a few shots on them now that they're behind you, try and slow their escape, you'll probably get a kill.

However, her kit is disgustingly overloaded, and half of it is free. Not to mention the frequency at which she can jump, and the movespeed she gets in bushes, makes her hard to punish if not caught in a lane.

Adding to the TLDR section.

Nidalee is toxic because of her long range, mobility and execution combined. each individually isn't a problem, but combined is.

She has the poke of Xerath, the mobility of new Kassadin and Garen's ult on her Q. How could a champ with Xerath's poke, Kassadin's mobility AND an execute not be broken? Even if losing, all Nidalee needs to do is land a spear on a carry or support to force them out of a fight, then take the objective 5v4.

If she isn't stupid, all she need to do is not go in and you still get chunked, then when you are alone, she goes in and kills you in 2 shots.

Well, I guess I may as well give mine...

Kalista High mobility and the ability to smite better than a jungler. I saw a suggestion to cap her E damage at smite's damage so she can't out-smite junglers. I'd be a fan of that.

Zed too much safety. Again, I've seen a suggestion to reduce his Q's range by 50 or so, thereby making his pre-6 laning more challenging and less safe, so when he kills you, he's earned it.

Annie Tibbers stun really isn't that different from Veigar E which let's be honest, did need a change (just not the one he got). Yes, you can argue that it's visible because of her smoke circle, but she can just use E to get the last stack moments before casting it, making it comparable to Veigar's half-second cast time on his cage. You can argue that Veigar is more useful in sieges because of his zoning, but Annie is better at killing more than one person (and is pretty dang good at killing individuals). Make Annie lob Tibbers like she did in the cinematic and then refocus some of that power to enhance other skills, possibly E.

Leblanc I agree she's too dominant, but I feel like it may just be a matter of lack of counters being popular. Maybe the solution to LB is to buff Galio or something. Since Galio's over 50%, maybe just tweak him to make him more fun so he'll be more popular. I don't actually think it's a problem of LB being too good. I just think that there aren't enough people counter-picking.

In my eyes, you were alright, but then you said this. So you're telling me we can counter-pick flash flash explode flash back to original start point (or not) without being punishable in any way, shape, or form? There's no commitment, no downside, no weak point, no cooldown. She's too rewarding for too much safety.

Anyway, your suggestions are being added.
