"between minutes 30 and 55 (timers before and after these points are unchanged"

^direct quotes from patch notes^

Yo, that's not midgame, and it's not gonna help with League's snowballing problem. I was so excited when I heard timers were getting shorter, but wow, this changes almost nothing.

Got killed at 30 mins mark. Made my dinner Finished Walking Dead's last season Had a good nap Made my work Finished my graduation ... Oh, there's still 20 seconds left!

Yeah, can't believe Riot could've lived under a rock so long that they could possibly consider that mid game. Then what's late game? After 55 minutes? That part of the game almost doesn't even exist anymore.

The death timer issue was the opposite of snowballing and this fix has nothing to do with reducing snowballing.

Death timers were a problem because building a lead in the game didn't matter as much as it should. A bad pick could instantly reverse everything, causing any lead you've established to not matter.

Play better, and you'll stop making an artificial mid game for your opponents at 15 minutes.

Wait a second here. Games can go longer than 30min? Are you sure these are S5 patch notes?

It helps a lot for me. Majority of my games head into around 30 minutes or more, so this is fine with me.

30 minutes is mid game? That is late game. And we almost never reach late game.

TyRamos4/5/2016, 10:54:13 PM5 votes

And here I thought 30 mins was basically late game.

25 minutes into the game is already considered "lategame" in this meta, considering how quickly games get out of control due to sheer snowballing. There has to be yet a single counter to this.

It changes a lot in Bronze matchups. Now you can feed even faster. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

i think it's great, because losing or wining teamfight could flow into the lose or win and this is very frustrating when u lost teamfight on 30 min and they pushed all the way to ur nexus while u are dead or u pushed while they are dead and finished the game . i won few games this way and i didnt get any satisfaction from it just wtf that was feeling , so yeah thx rito

As a side-note..... What ARE the new death timers? How are they calculated?

NeoBrawler4/6/2016, 4:14:44 PM1 votes

I think I have lost more games at 25mins than at 30 because of death timers. This change does literally nothing because of the fast meta we are in.

Midgame is 10 to 20 minutes. After 20 is ggwp, surrender.

Most of my games end within 30 minutes. Which isn't a problem. When teams are good, they know how to close out.

Yfrappefort4/6/2016, 6:40:42 PM1 votes

From my point of vue, mid game is more 15-30 minutes. Past that I consider it lategame.

I was expecting reduced death timers from 20-30 minutes. Now that would have been helpful. Further then 30 minutes is not gonna change much imo.

30 minutes is literally late-game already. What is this, a joke?
