Fiora help

So I'm a noob, and so far have been playing mostly mid mages like aurelion sol and syndra. Recently I decided to try an AD character so I picked out and bought Fiora for top lane.

I've been doing alright with Fiora, using a good recent build and everything. However, I always struggle vs characters that can outsustain me.

For example, no matter how much I hit nasus on the marks he doesn't care, he just regens, and when he doesn't h can take me on full health, while being on half health himself. Other characters that I struggle with are ranged - especially teemo, he just keeps poisoning me and quickly bringing me down to low health, forcing me to recall, so I'm forced to sit back and get CS under turret some of which he can still deny.

My own sustain consists of either 3 potions or a Doran's Blade and 1 potion. The 3 potions run out way too fast, whereas the Doran's blade has so little lifesteal I need to kill like 40 cs to regen half health - which usually isn't possible because they bully me out of CSing and I can't even get close to their creeps without danger of getting poisoned. Doran's blade works fine vs melee tanks, but even they can afford to stand near their creeps and damage me whenever I try to last hit.

This gets even worse when their jungler ganks me all the time, whereas my jungler never ganks top (My friend says top is too difficult and he would much rather get fed at easy gank lanes: bot and mid).

Any advice on how to play against characters that out sustain you and/or can do so much damage to you via range? I've already tried going aggressive and attacking them a lot, but the problem is, most of them can beat me in a straight up fight even if I hit most of the vitals.

She is toxic against tanks and got nerfed, better play Riven/Camille/Irelia. More rewarding champions than Fiora. You can still do fine, but she is not good in teamfights. vs Teemo - camp the bush and go for the vitals, then run back to the bush. Nasus - kill him lvl 1,2 or 3 and try to snowball on him. If he lives during the early levels, you can't do anything to him. He will kill you later even through your ult. vs ranged you usually are playing the same as vs teemo - camp bushes, so you don't eat poke and farm under tower, ping for ganks, if they push, kill them, if they make mistakes.

the first thing anyone should actually say to this is "welcome to toplane"

In top you don't get to just ride it out with your utility. When you are countered too hard you either have the fallback pattern you need ready or you are going through the shitter. If you are struggling top, more likely than not its because you did not set up and build for the way you are "supposed" to play up there. Mid is far more flexible and forgiving as though riot gave a shit. In top when you aren't doing well you stack more hp and hope the jungler or the clock saves you (they wont, even the pro's feed when toplane goes to shit)

More than likely your problem is not "I cannot win" but rather "I don't know how to lose properly"

Switching from mid to top is like switching from kung fu to aikido

kung fu = learn the technique and apply it till you break and repair yourself. Kung fu means "hard work." You are adapting what your body knows and learns into something to do even harder work with. aikido = learn how to get your ass beat properly, then proceed to understand how it was done. You can begin winning when you've fallen too many times to count. You can stop losing once you've mastered the art of losing.
