I'm quite pleased about SoJ's removal too. Saw it on Volibear earlier and it was disgusting.

Amazing job riot but I'd rather deal with 1 person having spear then the whole bloody enemy team having spear. So as usual riot takes 1 step forward 10 back

Even when i rush it on Camille i feel dirty, its just so busted. Even if its gonna be a signifigant nerf to my knife leg lady i say good riddance

Spear of Shojin isn't used on Riven anymore, it's a very situational item. There are Riven players that spam it because it's 'fun' for them, but the item actually sucks and shouldn't be in the game. For Riven the item isn't that great either, i mean sure you can get Q faster but rarely other abilities unless used correctly, the real issue is with Jax and Renekton who can permanently stun you. Jax for instance without an item with maxed E has 4 seconds, so with an item this is reduced to 1 second, similar case is with Renekton.
As a Riven main i used this item only at the start with an older Essence Reaver, not Spear of Shojin because the build path sucks.

Hope they remake it into the version that was tested in Nexus Blitz last year if it ever returns. I much prefer that spear of shojin compared to the one we currently have.
Spear was overrated for no reason... but whatever.
