I'm so bad at the game and no matter how hard I try I can't for the life of me find out how to get better, there's always one person around me usually trolls or feeds and throws a game so I can't watch anyone in the game to try and learn, no matter how hard I try I do terrible in ranked, in normals I do fine it seems but as soon as I get into ranked I play like absolute shit, I get desparate, I panic, I need help.

I don't believe in ELO hell in the sense that the rest do, that it's others stopping you from winning because you're great, but I do believe that others stop you from learning, I have to idea how I can improve, how I can apply it, and no one around me seems to know either, i'm at a loss of where to look.

hi!

i just want to say that to remember that league of legends is a fun game and you shouldn't panic or worry. just calm down and enjoy the game.

everybody learn differently and you just need to find the way you do.

i am sorry if i didn't answer many things but i think it will be better for you to answer them yourself.

Good Luck!

Try playing different game modes; playing ARAM will get you used to teamfights and dodging skillshots.

Practice vs. AI; they might be predictable and no challenge, but you can still practice using skillshots and utilizing your items at the right time (like Zhonya's and QSS). It's a no-stress environment so you can take your time.

If you're down on your luck in Ranked, play Normal matches until you feel good about it again. Continuing to do Ranked when you're on tilt will make you lose games you shouldn't have.

Interested in just a few champions? Spectate high elo players on them! There's always something more to learn, and watching LCS or spectating can teach you things you'd never consider on your own. Check out guides online too.

Bring a friend. It can be a lot better with someone else that can compliment your playstyle. Doesn't have to be an IRL friend, it can be someone you enjoyed a match with before so sent them a friend request.

In the end, the game is about having fun. If it isn't fun, switch something up (whether it be game mode, champion pool, role, or even quitting LoL); you might find you're really good on that champion you never tried before.

How well does skill in normals translate to ranked? Sometimes I feel like I do fairly well in normals, but I feel like I do abysmal in ranked, perhaps it's the worry and stress.

You get to practice and work on your mechanics without the pressure of losing.

Normals translate very well, or they should. You may have a rough time at first while the game tries to place you, but in general the game plays the same outside of how you pick who you play.

It probably is the worry and stress that you feel. The game mode is more competitive because it's ranked against others, so people care more, so people are more tense and will lash out more often than normals.

The best you can do is learn every role, practice CSing with the champs you intend to play (5 minute custom games aiming for 36-38 minions), and do the best you can in a game. Learn champions that can play two roles, Shyvana can be played top or jungle, Morg can be support or mid, etc etc.

Or just stop playing ranked until the teambuilder version comes out, then just do your best in your favorite role, but that probably won't be released this year, if next year.
