Thoughts on Jungler
Ok. You might say jungle this jungle that no ganks afk farming no map control blah blah blah. I used to think that way until I started to play jungle. I start to think like a jungler instead of a laner when I’m playing the role. Because I used to question myself, is jungle that hard? Why can’t you just be a decent jungler and gank me.
First thought: jungle needs to have extremely good map awareness and good understanding of all aspects of the game. Usually failing to acknowledge the location of the other jungler and things such as red, blue, birds, rocks etc... you need to keep a close eye on. Or else you lose as a jungler. In other words, objective control.
Second thought: ITS NOT AS EASY AS YOU THINK IT IS. I used to flame my jungler a lot( don’t worry I’ve reformed) but after getting to know this very unique and specific role, I totally understood how it works and I don’t complain because I understand it’s very pressured and intense vs when I play as a laner.
Third thought: the more I play jungle, the better map awareness I have, because jungle requires you to look at the map every few seconds to see the position of your laners, the minion waves, objectives, tower etc... and when I return to top (which I main) I realized I look at the map so much more, I care about my jungle as a team. And I try to help them succeed early game so it would be easy for them. This is a team game, not some 1v9 stuff(occasionally pulls off a 1v9 carry). Maybe you see bad teams here and there, but I believe most people are decent if they work together as a team.
Last thought: if you read the whole thing, thank you. It’s just some personal opinions. And I recommend everyone try to think like a jungler, having good map awareness and good game knowledge could be a potential coin flipper.
