Between items like Rabadon's, Liandrey's, and Void staff when do you build what? My guess is Rabadon's if they don't have any MR, Liandrey's if they have some and Void staff if they have a lot.

I typically skip out on deathcap entirely and build both both of the other two. More MPen means you deal more damage to everyone

Really? But what good does Void staff do if all of their MR is negated by Liandrey's?

I notice you are an Evelynn Evelynn player.

Rab's by itself is not cost efficient, but with any Runic Echos {{item:1402}, Rabadon's Deathcap item 3089 provides you with 55 additional AP in most standard Evelynn AP rune pages. This is enough to push your ultimate to deal nearly 1000 (EDIT: Rank 2 Last Caress) damage to targets below the threshold.

On item 3089 purchase, her quote is for real.

Evelynn "This land will become a sea of Torment."

Pay attention to items after getting this. If they build MR to counter you and another AP user, go with Void Staff.

Otherwise, stick with Liandry's. You are right. Void staff will do nothing vs low MR targets, and since Eve negates MR inherently, Liandry's is the safest item to build first, THEN go with Void Staff if you can't quite finish off the target due to higher than normal MR values. (but you have to be really good with that Allure first. if you still need practice with it, get void staff earlier than you would.)

Getting both is never a bad option once you have item 3089 Rabadon's Deathcap.

That Deathcap tho..

I recommend getting a Blasting Wand item 1026 as soon as possible. It is in several recipes, including all 3 items above. 40 AP is a huge chunk and will give your kit some early finishing power.
