Platinum Is the Most Toxic Elo

I've never witnessed this extreme amount of toxicity in any elo ever. I've been in every division from Bronze 5 to Gold 1 and it wasn't until I reached Gold 1 with a high MMR facing plats every game that I experienced this much toxicity. In Bronze, you get bad teams. However, they're able to be carried. You occasionally get a toxic teammate or a troll teammate, but it's not that bad considering it's not often that they do something that causes the game to be uncarriable. In Silver, you start seeing cases of actual toxicity in a few games, but more often than not you're being faced with players that aren't toxic. In Gold, you get toxicity sometimes, but in this elo people are starting to focus more often on themselves than they are on other players.

Of course, in every elo you're going to find toxicity on occasion, but oh lord Platinum...

Warning: This is not an overexaggeration Literally every game ever since I started playing with Plats I have witnessed toxicity starting in champion select. From people banning out their own team's champions to complaining about a champion someone picks, and occasionally calling "gg" in champion select after seeing what the enemy picked compared to your team. In-game, they pick out every mistake you make and complain about it in the most vulgar ways I've ever seen in any elo. In Bronze and Silver, you see toxicity that isn't relevant to the game, but that's easy to get over since these are just some random people that don't actually know you or your life. You can talk about my mother all you want but none of it is true. However, Platinums attack your gameplay, which is a complete fast and easy tilt.

The worst part is, they're not wrong. The game knowledge a Platinum possesses is so high that they know who's fault each error is and can pinpoint every mistake any player makes. Then, when they see that mistake, they attack you, even if you're winning. Going through the elo ladder is supposed to be a steady climb where you take everything you've learned from the previous elos and put them all together, but it's as if after they finished climbing out of Gold they reverted to their Silver elo mentality where everything is the team's fault. Again, the worst part is you can't argue that it isn't whatever player they're attacking's fault. Nonetheless, if a Plat player climbed through Gold with a mentality of "Focus on my gameplay and not my team's," where between Gold and Plat did they revert back to their Silver elo "blame the team" mentality?

Honestly, I'm sickened by this. I knew that toxicity would exist in every elo, but I thought the higher in the ladder I climbed the less often toxic players would be found. It was rare that I came across a toxic player in Silver or Gold, maybe once in every five games if not less often, but aforementioned I'm coming across toxic players every game, whether they're on the enemy team or my team, and previously stated the toxicity starts in champion select.

My only concern is, if this is simply the result of a higher game knowledge, is the toxicity going to be worse and more frequent in Diamond?

Nah, platinum is just a hellhole. Worst elo to play in as far as I know. Silver comes in second.

I find plat elo chill. The reason behind why you're fighting so much plats as a gold 1 is because most of those plats you'll fight before actually getting to plat, are on the verge of demotion or a lose streak. Some just joined the division. Imagine initially getting to plat, you'd feel pretty good about yourself at first right? Then you get stomped game after game and now you have to fight gold players. Hurts the ego. If you're playing on the plat level it becomes crucial to win as a team. It's much harder to carry in the platinum elo so your team has to succeed, and this puts pressure on everyone to perform. Most plat players will try to get their team to perform as good as they do, so when they see a mistake, they tell you about it. Leads to toxicity really quick. Obviously this wont apply to everyone but I hope I've given you some insight.

Challenger players will tell you how toxic and shitty Dia 5 is. IMO that's only because they actually experience Dia 5, but never get to stay for more than a game on Plat 5 elo. Plat 5 is by far the most toxic elo I know.

Diamond 5 is literally cancer.

Gotta go with D5. Easily the worst elo I've ever played in. It's just a mix of toxic challenger wannabes and "I made diamond so I don't care anymore" people, and people have finally good enough that you can't just carry past uncooperative teammates.

Plat 1 is far worse than Plat 5. FAR WORSE. It is really bad until like D3ish, then you are smooth sailing to D1.

And god help you if you get there because it just comes back.

Man, sucks to hear this bro, I honestly feel quite the opposite. Since i've been in plat, I haven't witness half the amount of toxicity as i did in previous tiers..

Generally low plat is really bad, until you hit plat 3ish it will not get much better which is true plat elo, anything that is tier 1 and tier 5 under are the same , unless your master tier. Just keep grinding you'll get out of it eventually.

I feel like the issue is mostly at the ends of each tier, so P5 and P1, and presumably D5 and D1, and similar for the lower tiers (no idea how things are around the edges of master/challenger). The people in those divisions have gotten their border and don't necessarily care as much about pushing all the way to the next tier, or they're right at the edge of the tier and so get frustrated to be so close but getting screwed by other peoples 'obvious' mistakes.

I figure all you can do is clench your teeth and get through it, enjoy the jolly cooperation in the middle of the tier, then clench some more.

I just had a year-long break with league after ending in high gold elo, I came back. Started playing some games with my silver friends to get rid of the rust. Now Im trying to get through my ranked pregames playing with high gold and lower plat guys. ITS HORRIBLE. Im a supp main so I have a though skin. But the jhin I was playing with was just awefull (as was our sion top) (sion was actually the highest elo and fed the most agains a rumble while buiding armour becuz he thought rumble was bad and he just lost because mao didnt gank him) The Jhin was flaming me from 5 min on, he died "why do I always get supps who solo lose bot" Then he kept calling me boosted all game, while Sion was afk using his ult against the wall in spawn. This made me tilt as I was already on a 6 losing streak. I wont be mad If I get silver. cuz plat and high gold is just awefull...
