The scaling of the gold of the support

I find it strange that a support has significantly more gold, as compared to the team average, on a team that is doing poorly than on a team doing well. Don't believe it? Check this out:

See, my team did really well. And even though I have tons of assists, the 1 gold for each nearby minion that died mastery, and did tons of autos and spells to rack up a lot of gold, I still have a lot less than anyone else on my team.

Consider the contrary, where your team is doing really badly. The gold each member of your team has is somewhat evened out, since you get the global shutdown gold from all of the shutdowns your team gets. Meaning that, yes, even the support has increased gold relative to the average of your team, as compared to the alternative.

Maybe there's something I'm missing here, but I really don't see a good reason why there should be such a discrepancy. Is there some real, logical reason for how this helps the game?

The support's gold income is more or less fixed, so if your team has less gold on average, you'll have more relative to them.

Consider the sources of income for both:

Lanes get most of their gold from CS. If you are losing then you usually end up with a lot less CS due to being killed often or not being able to safely farm.

Support has more passive gold generation, gets gold from damaging enemy champions and gains gold from other people's CS while nearby. Win or lose you'll get most of it either way.

Well because your income, save for the assists and objectives (which you obviously get more of when your team is winning), is pretty much fixed and tied to whatever gold item you chose. Whereas the marksman and the others get a lot of money from their farm (and they don't get too much of that if they are losing hard), and kills (again if losing they don't get too much of that).

When your team is going well, your teammates get more kills, more towers (and you'll get the same gold as they do for tower so when calculating the difference it evens out), more minions. You get more gold from towers (again, your team gets it too), and more assists gold (and assists are worth less than pre-5.22 because they no longer scale up from being in "assist streak").
