If we define ADC as a build, they are almost nonexistent at this point.

I have yet to see anyone but Corki build that "mage" build

I have yet to see anyone use that "ad fighter" build

The only two that I can actually think of are MF and maybe Jhin

People like to say Graves and Quinn are ADCs to bolster their argument. Jhin builds like an assassin even though his playstyle is more like a utility mage. MF plays like AD Velkoz, n ot a traditional DPS ADC.

Ye it's about the role they fill. I don't see much DPS backline carries anymore. Quinn fills the role of a splitpushing assassin, graves is a more frontline bruiser / assassin type, corki is more of a poke / burst / magic damage type, MF support is... honestly I don't even know what she's supposed to be.

Even the supposed bot lane adcs play more supportive roles. Varus and Ashe have engage, Jhin ults from the backline, which really doesn't deal as much dps as more of a disruption / zoning tool because they will have to position themselves to avoid the brunt of the damage itself from hitting the squishies.

I almost see the marksman rework as a sort of reassigning of the previously known adcs to different roles. It's a shame that people are using marksmen as an argument for the strength of adcs... which is only a sub-category of marksmen honestly.

And Mf support, Corki mid use(or buy) ap or magic damage items somewhere in their build

Mf Jhin Varus Draven Graves jayce Lucian Quinn and Twitch all build lethality(and maybe Cait)

Graves can use that ad fighter build, and many adc's use each of those items selectively.

Twitch and Cait don't go lethality and Jayce/Quinn/Graves aren't adc's (in Quinn's and Graves case, the keyword would be anymore)

That leaves MF, Jhin, Varus, and sometimes Draven

1v1 doesn't prove anything. ADCs aren't meant to solo kill enemies. ADCs exist to cause consistent damage to the enemy team.
