Simple suggestion: In Blind Pick, don’t allow players to lock in their champions until 10 seconds have passed. This won’t completely stop players from just locking in whatever and ignoring their teammates, but at least it will help with players that “didn’t see it.”

This will literally do nothing. If they are instalocking, they are instalocking after 10 seconds.
I think rather than this, they should prevent all actions until everyone is loaded into the chat. This means typing to call a lane, picking a champion etc. That way, you can't miss seeing someone else call a lane before you because you joined the room last. Even in circumstances wherein your computer is running slow and you connected to the chat but the visuals just havent caught up, it'd still have collected the data for you to see even when it does catch up.
this will barely do anything, if even that much. People will just select what they want and either as soon as the 10 secs pass they'll lock in or they'll just wait for the entire timer to run out and have the game auto lock the champion for them
Upvoted. Hopefully Riot will implement this. I hate it when people just lock in and pretend they didn't see or pretend they called it.
"didn't see it" those quotation marks make me feel like i'm doing something wrong when I don't actually see someone else call it and NO ONE communicates with me until the end of champ select
I'm not sure what this will accomplish other than making me wait till second 11 to instalock. I'll happily discuss where I take my pick with the team and we can reach an agreement, but my pick isn't up for debate. I'm picking what I'm picking.
that wouldn't exactly stop people from copying their preferred role and pasting it as soon as they load, which is the real issue with blind pick.
Now they'll just instalock after 10 seconds. But at least they can't lie i guess.
I'm unsure what to do against instalockers imo. Two options would be too get pissy and still go the lane they're going effectively destroying your team's moral or be a (??!?!?) and go to another lane.

I'm just curious how this would change behavior in blind pick, just be 10 seconds of hovering before people ignore teammates. I haven't played blind pick in a long time bc it's just blegh.
Or you could delete blind pick and force everyone into teambuilder to lessen the queues and make for a an overall more enjoyable experience.
i spent 20 minutes in team builder waiting for someone to pick me up as akali mid before i just went to blind pick and instalocked...i felt so bad afterwords but the team understood why

Just don't play blind pick..... The only time I ever join a blind pick game is if I'm in a pre-made 5 man. It's a terrible mode when compared to TB or draft.
make sure no one can use chat to call roles till after everyone has connected and joined the chat room
