The burst mentality

So, this is't a post against assasins, but i've noticed something, when playing a champ such as braum or vayne, people tend to tumble on the 3rd bolt shot, or Q when they're at 3 stacks, to add a burst effect, anyone else notice this? (i tend to do it on braum)

Usually people do it cause the burst is unexspected sometimes and it gives less reaction time or can scare an enemy into burning an ability or summoner spell

It's inefficient to do it so solely for burst. You're in fact losing damage output if you're waiting to use an ability purely for the health-chunking aesthetic.

It is, however, more efficient to use your AA reset or CC ability to guarantee the proc. It preserves your resources, and makes a wasted CD significantly less likely.

Vayne can use her tumble to stay in range and proc the third silver bolt. Braum can save his ram for a ranged hit for the last stack - at the cost of the slow that he usually CC-chains with the stun. Ahri can throw her charm at every decent opportunity, only committing to an orb throw (or full combo) if it lands. Xerath can similarly hold off on spamming his pulse in favor of a less telegraphed eye-blast, often making it easier to land either one of his other spells in the process.

It depends. With Vayne it's not surprising because her Q is an auto reset.

With Braum your Q isn't gonna add stacks after they're stunned so might as well use it to make sure they're stunned even if they're not in auto range.

Yeah but wouldn't you usually auto+Q auto?

Depends. I usually see Q auto Q or auto auto Q, depending on who is able to pick the fights.

Holding Q does two things for Vayne. One is enemies are more likely to blow mobility if they have two stacks, so you want to save your mobility to follow. At the same time saving your mobility means you didn't just tumble into their face as they turn around to burst you while you still have one more AA before you complete your burst.

Well when you stun someone, you SHOULD have a burst prepared. It's just optimal to dump it out when they can't dodge.

When I play Orianna, if I land a Q>W I want to be in range to put on an auto or two while they are still slowed to add in another 30% ap and proc thunderlord's.

Ok sure but why1 votes

Tbh I run in as Vayne and instantly tumble away as I proc the last bolt

I also take her top and keep my foes stuck under their turret

Why are you tumbling away lol. Bronzelife

Ok sure but why2 votes

Rather not get Darius pulled pre-6

Tumble away when the actual cc is coming, or for an aa reset and to push damage, or to farm. Don't just q away to q away if there is nothing to q away from. That's just stupid and a waste of your ability.

Ok sure but why1 votes

If you show Darius how twitchy and careful you are every time he even farts in your direction, he'll either lose hope quickly and let you win lane, or get really aggressive and set you up for a free kill

all about the psychological warfare, and you woulda lost m9

It's to get your opponent by surprise. I've got so many first bloods by Autoattacking normally twice, walking away a bit and then suddently Q->AA->Ignite for around 250-300 health on level 3 (thunderlord proc).

When it comes to Vayne, I generally use tumble as an opportunistic trade-tool. They let me hit them twice? Q, AA, back off. Gets me in range, gets the AA off, no minion-block issues. Nice 'n easy.

Veigar on the other hand, when I get someone stunned, I tend to delay my Q so it hits just as W hits. Really, it's just a strange habit, but I like to think I do it to stop them from pin-pointing exactly how much damage my abilities do seperately. Knowledge is power after all and the death recap sure as hell isn't gonna tell them what happened.

IT depends on the situation, if you know you can burst someone for example, say your fed with vayne or it's late game(same thing honestly) then your probably going to Q into them to initiate and get in range instead of finish them off. If your not fed and you pretty much playing like a normal ADC should, then AA+AA+Q is better because if they run away you can dash towards them, reposition for your E, if they keep chasing you, dash away and also the surprise burst factor due to so many procs at once.

Not to mention two auto attacks+the MAJOR empowered auto you'll get from tumble+third passive proc and thunderlords makes for bursting someone easy, especially if their bellow 75%. In 1v1 senario's or laning i'd use AA+AA+Q but in teamfights i imagine i'll be using Q+AA+AA or a combination of both more. Not to mention if you use your tumble for the last proc and to reposition yourself and land an E as well, you get another free proc soon after because they'll be stunned for at least 2 auto's. In fact most of the time when i see "CRAZY VAYNE OUTPLAYS" it's the same pattern, someones chasing me? Oh, well Kite+Kite+Q+E+AA+AA+Q dead, and that will usually repeat for every outplay.
