I don't like Irelia as she is strong but is the change a bit too drastic?

Irelia Ionian Fervor (Passive) [Removed] No longer deals bonus damage to shields at max stacks

Vanguard's Edge (R) wall damage increased from 75/125/175 to 125/200/275 slow potency increased from 60% to 90% wall duration lowered from 2.5/3/3.5 to 2.5 at all levels [Removed] No longer disarms enemies passing through the wall

She was loved because she is unique but they basically remove whatever was unique on Irelia. I don't like Irelia but I'm sure this isn't the right way to change her.

To be fair, a 90% slow for 2.5 seconds is basically a death sentence. The previous version stopped you from fighting back, but most people were trying to get away from her, anyway. She can dash in with the free reset, land her stun for free since you basically can't move and get ANOTHER free reset. She trades the safety of the disarm for a ton of extra CC and damage.

There is a big difference between trash change and champion gutting

The OP aint complaining about her power drop concern, HE IS COMPLAINING BECAUSE THE CHANGES THEY HAVE HER FOR ARE AUTISTIC

Exactly. I don't play Irelia and find her strong when mastered but I doubt this is the way to go.

Trust me when I say I know autistic, and that’s not it. The change is giving mobile ranged auto-attackers and shielders (ADC and support) more of a way to fight back. The shield shred mechanic was unneeded and just Riot’s way of showing off a new toy which never belonged in a kit that already had everything else.

The minion damage change makes playing against a fed Irelia slightly less frustrating by reducing her waveclear, while helping an Irelia who is behind catch up.

And absolutely necessary.

You can´t balance champions like Irelia with simple numbers tuning.

The fact that she was sitting around the same performance levels as Ryze, Azir, Kalista and the sort and STILL being very strong serves as confirmation of that.

They´re removing stuff from her kit so they can actually balance her. So buffs are a possibility.

  1. You have no idea what you are talking about (sorry if I sound harsh just hyper mad at Rito )
  2. There is this thing called minimal speed slow increase barely does anything if anything this just makes swifties more obsolete
  3. They though she struggles sticking to targets after she lands her ultimate, thats the only reason to buff that afterall (I MAIN IRELIA SHE DOESNT)

The change is just bad period

Ya the disarm removal is pretty weird, considering that was something unique to her.

Yea but he stun them and stop them from attacking but people still can cast spell.

He snares, you can still attack and cast spells/abilities.

A disarm is basically a silence for auto attackers.

The bonus damage to shields is a dumb gimmick.

The disarm, though, is something Riot should double down on. Lower the wall damage, increase the disarm duration.

So they remove what made her unique and slapped a bunch of damage on and called it a day what the fuck

Now Irelia's only viable build is going to be single target assassin, and that's the play style she'll be used as, rather than teamfight captain. Why don't you nerf her targeted damage on individual targets to give people a fighting chance in skirmishes while retaining her identity as a dasher?

Why the Disarm removal?!?!? That was her primary way of zoning asc's or prevent them from critting her to death. For bonus damage to shields Idk, seemed like a good thinf when dealing with shield tanks or bruisrs or shuelded adc's(like kai'sa), but guess she has enough true damage to deal with the first two.

Bwahahahahaha! Nice rework you got there, Rito.

Gawd dayum, that feels good to see.

I’m up for anything that makes her less overloaded.

Her passive still gives her AD scaling on hit magic damage with attack speed, so it’s not like it’s really any weaker.

And, let’s be honest here, the disarm was nothing more than a nod to her lore and what she did to Swain, there was really no other reason something so powerful was on her kit. And it’s still an AOE Slow zone with high base damage that can still slow a second time PLUS resets her bladesurge.

I think she may be weak after these changes, but these changes did need to happen.

The only thing I find unecissary is the wall duration nerf. Without the disarm there that seems a little too much of a hit. I’m also skeptical about the change to minion damage, I guess it’ll limit her mobility and be easier to balance with lower bonus damage and flat numbers, but that seems too low.

no its not she is still 100% playable these were things that she did not need to work as a champion them being removed is a good thing and riot is realizing they are overloading their champions a little too much and took away a few things that arnt needed for her to preform well

Disarm added skillcap to Irelia and to her opponent, if they don't wanted to lose they need to either 1: Flash 2: Blink if they have one (Kat for exemple) 3: Fight here without passing the wall 4: Pass the wall and risk getting murdured. It was there to counter 1 class but in same time it work against everything that is AA reliant. I play Quinn as a champ and Irelia was busted yes, but not from her ultimate. If she hit you with it she deserve to be rewarded, it's easy to dodge and it's a skillshot. My concern was her W being not interuptable, not the Disarm.

does it still slightly moves people and slows? Theres a fine line between reward and unnecessary reward something needed to happen to Irelia nerfing base stats or numbers wasnt really going to do anything good for the champion they needed to take away some of the unneeded things disarm being one of them she doesnt need it shes still doing fine without it so is it really that big of a deal? I would understand if the nerfs made her mediocre or bad but they didnt she is still very much a viable pick even with these things taken away. champions just dont need all this stuff its ok if an ability doesnt do 20 different things.
