When you see Level 5 Mastery, you're supposed to think 'wow he's really good at that champion'

But all I actually wonder is 'how many games did he grind out and feed in just to get that ribbon'

Yes because God forbid someone has a bad game.

All it says is, "Hey, I've played this champ a lot. If you want to know if I'm good at them or not, check me out on a site or watch me in game."

Playing a champ for 20 games does not make some one good at it... If they set it so you needed to reach 100k points instead of 25k then when you see that badge you can think hey he knows what he doing with that champ.

Yeah, I think they need to set the point bar higher. I'm currently at 95k points (you need 20k for Rank 5) with Bard.

While people complain it's a dumb system, I think its pretty fun collecting points while playing the champs you love.

It means next to nothing because it's based on wins. The amount of games it takes to get that ribbon is super low, so they may not have been playing that champion for very long.

You also have to remember that people have bad games from time to time, or they may be up against a champion that counters their kit.

Yeah, but you knew that would be the case when they announced it.
