So past the laning phase, how much damage does Malzahar's Voidlings even do? Post Game Stats?

In laning phase, they're...a thing. I mean, at that point even minions are deadly.

But whenever I play Malzahar and pay attention to my Voidlings, they're often not attacking so much as...pacing between the enemy champions and me as though it's asking for my permission to bite that Syndra in the face while I'm too busy dodging her balls yelling for him to just go in. Other times I just see my voidlings waddle towards the enemy and die to ensuing AoE's.

One of the flaws then is that it never specifies how much each ability/item effect can do.

I'm Zyra , I wonder how much proportion of my damage are my plants doing?!

I'm Annie , does my Tibbers do jack during the 2 seconds after I summoned him before getting blown up?!

I'm Velkoz , how much of my damage is from my Passive and how much from my spells?!

I'm Malzahar, do my Voidlings even attack and do damage when they actually do?!

For some champions, it's easy where what damage is coming from and it's proportions, like if you're Tristana, it's going to be like 85% physical and 15% magical thanks to her powerful early game nukes. Or Cassiopeia because good damn everything is funneled into that E of hers now.

In this case, how come post-game stats don't show you more detailed statistics like damage of individual skills to champions?

Or average damage of individual skills during durations of teamfights/skirmishes?

Malzahars voidlings deal physical damage. It's a pretty safe bet that 80+% of the physical damage you dealt was dealt by them. Unless your adc malzahar. in which case if youre doing it right, its 95+, deadly motherfuckers.

Back when BT stacked AD and Lifesteal, I would get my fully-grown pikachus to 800 AD. Oh man, it was glorious.

One thing i noticed about post game, true damage is missing

You can find it out easily enough, by taking total-physical-magical. But they should really just have a button. Many champs do a lot of true damage, like Vel'koz, Vayne, Irelia, others do enough that you would might just want to see. Of course, not every champion deals true damage, but then, not every champ deals magic damage.

Would be awesome to know how much skills do, though that could be hard to set up (I am not a programmer or anything, so not sure).

Otherwise, if you are AP Malzahar, your voidlings will probably do SLIGHTLY more than your autos over the game.

If AD, almost all your damage is the Voidlings.

In which case, you'd be interested in how much damage your magic spells are doing, because you're spamming the shit out of them to get those voidlings out, and your W atleast inflicts % health damage in AoE.

try all your magic damage.

Vel'Koz's passive is the only form of true damage he gets, so you can just take the true damage from endgame stats (total - physical - magical) to see how much damage it's doing. By the way, it usually comes out to be ~1/3 to 1/4 of his total damage, depending on how you build him.

Just look at your physical damage dealt to champions. That will be, for the most part, your Voidlings.

And yes, they have some really wonky leashing issues. If they're after someone with Visions on them, they chase forever. If not then the leash range is MUCH shorter.

Malzahar is one of those weird odd-ball champions who does not fit mechanically well In the game. Here is what I mean.

#1 a single target suppression that lasts an absurdly large amount of time that has huge range ontop of his DoT-centered kit makes him an extremely toxic champion to lane against. For the most part, people do not like laning against him just because his ulti can spell auto-loss of any fight 1v1 if he knows what he is doing, and puts pressure on you before you can itemize for MR and such.

#2 His ultimate is complete trash against a lot of people who know what they are doing. If Malz is focusing the ADC EVERY fight with his ultimate, then the ADC should take the hint to get a mercurial scimitar/QSS to negate his ultimate entirely. Without his ultimate, Malzahar is rendered at half of his use. He might still do some good AOE damage, but his ability to shut-down the ADC declines unless he is uber fed and can practically 1 shot the ADC.

#3 Malzahar pushes extremely hard yet has no mobility to speak of whatsoever. This just goes against everything that makes sense for a champion like him. Sure Control-midlaners have bad mobility usually, and tend to be excellent are pushing their wave by farming it up with their abilities, but they tend to have FAR more range than malzahar has, and better CC too. Malzahar's big CC renders him completely stuck in place... That's not exactly the best way to get out of a gank. Syndra has quicker CC and much better range, and she doesn't have to sit in place. Anivia has great CC and zoning ability and once again, she doesn't have to stand in place. Sitting in one spot trying to suppress the enemy is just toxic not only for 1v1 fighting, but it's just terrible outside of situations like that which DOES NOT fit a control mid-laner's kit at all. Control Mid-laners tend to be team-fight centered by supplying the team with their valuable CC. Malzhar's makes him a sitting duck practically, and it's one of the worst team fight abilities with its rather unsafe range (which can be broken 1v1 in lane, but terrible in team fights), and does not fit a squishy mage in anyway at all.

#4 His kit doesn't even fit him. A suppression like WW's or Skarner's both work perfectly well on them BECAUSE, they are both extremely tanky champions. Having to run in nearly point-blank to use their suppression doesn't matter when they can soak up so much damage.

please turn down the bold. It just caused almost as much physical damage as AD Malz voidlings.

He's got some weird capabilities for outplay, along with some weird opening for counterplay, that at the very least make him an... interesting... champion. I wouldn't say he's a perfectly non-toxic design, but his niche purpose and vulnerabilities are far more well-defined than a lot of other old champions, meaning it'll be a while before the rework team gets to him.

In the meantime, some general QoL changes (such as only allowing him to cancel his own Ult if he recasts it, and a range indicator on his E bounce) could go a long way to keep him in a reasonable place. He's super high-risk, super high-reward, so its unlikely he'll become widely abused (or used in competitive). Until then, those of us that enjoy him will continue to use him, and those that dislike him will continue to enjoy his incredibly low pick rate.

qss only removes the suppression, the damage still goes through unless you move out of range. you can actually build malzahar somewhat tanky with items like item 3027 item 3116 item 3157 item 3151 (1350 bonus hp, 50 armor, 15 magic pen, 650 mana, and 350 ap total after RoA gets full stacks) his E and R also apply full spell vamp

Malzahar already has awesome ratios and bases and 4 damage skills. If the voidlings had ap ratio, he would be EXTREMELY overpowered.

Malzahar is also one of the few mages that counter bruisers because of anti-tenacity and max % hp damage.

I don't know what you meant about the others but, Zyra's plant have ap ratios, Banner of Command increases Tibbers' damage by 15% and Vel's passive deals true damage that is easily stacked. You could build Gunblade on Malzahar because the voidlings have 1.0 ad ratio and increases the damage over the duration, but his ap ratios are just too good.

Wheatloaf3 votes

He wasn't suggesting they get an AP ratio, he just wants a stat that tells you how much damage they dealt at the end of the game.

Either you can't read, or you have a habit of missing the entire point of a post.

I think this might be difficult because of how each different champion functions. Some champs, like Trundle, only deal damage on two abilities (three if you count the 1 true damage from Pillar of Ice :D), and auto attacks, so he wouldn't need a whole lot, while someone like Ziggs would need to account for all four of his abilities, his passive, and his auto attacks. This would probably need to be coded individually for every champion in the game, which may be tricky and may not be worth the time and effort to do so.

However, I do think that this is a cool idea, and would love to see it implemented in game just for the fun of seeing the particular stats.

Sometimes I just want to see how effective Liandries burn effect is on each champion.

I've always enjoyed how it always procs on DoT like Brand's burn and Malzahar's E. But it might not even be all that efficient.

Although initially I only first bought it on Brand because his ratios blooooooooooooooooowwss....hence I went for penetration and that Passive looke dfun.
