You can feel the toxicity emanating from IKS Riot team as they are getting steamrolled. It shows:

Their mentality and frustration show how easy it is to get into a toxic mindstate, they are getting absolutely wrecked and are so frustrated it is hilarious to feel the tension. Zirene is so mad and is like "you kids are so bad, should have let me mid." Phreak is like "uh I'm dying so much and you guys are doing nothing, you suck."

This just shows that Riot Lyte's childish punishments should be removed from this game as EVERYONE gets frustrated. Every single person in life is not always nice to you, and kids need to learn to deal with it or walk away (aka mute).

Pretty sure they were SUPPOSED to act toxic, due to the whole nature of the teams and match (I KS?).

That is no act, that is pure unpunished toxicity.

they're acting within the theme of a bunch of salty seadogs duking it out over spoils that are now unclaimed due to the death of gangplank

do you expect bilgewater roughnecks to be tossing around rose petals and rainbows?

So what youre saying is, If i dress up and pretend to have a theme it justifies me being toxic? I agree with op everyone get frustrated. Lytes automatic ban system is retarded. Bring tribunal back please.

no, what i'm saying is if a group of rioters are playing a showmatch and what they're saying over a voicecomm happens to not be delicate (especially given the theme of the showmatch) that it's not them displaying in-game toxicity

riot doesn't punish interactions that take place over voip services

I can say one thing with confidence. This OP just got punished for being toxic. What are you doing? Its a showmatch, meaning they aren't acting serious. Its all, for the most part, scripted or not serious. Do you go to the movies and believe Mission Impossible really happened? No, you dont.

Your comment has no validity, is idiotic, and is yet another fanboy trying to justify anything Riot does by deflecting. Mission Impossible? Really? LOL. Go back to your silver-spoon life kid.

Now that the game turns around, all the fake "Woo Hoos!" and cheers to try to deflect how toxic they were early game.

P.S. Kinda funny Riot Dash rocking the Postal Service pants, wonder what mailman he got those from.

I'm not sure. I think kids should also be able to contain their frustration to an appropriate mature level, or be punished by the system for not following the rules we agree to by playing the game.

It's on the player to manage their behavior. Calling the punishment childish and saying "kids should learn to deal with it" just doesn't sit well. I think it's a lot more childish to think it's okay to be toxic than to be someone who doesn't want to deal with it. Yes, the mute button is great, but being banned or chat restricted because you couldn't control yourself isn't childlike punishment.

But I do find the IKS situation to be amusing. Maybe Riot will learn from this?

I'm just dissapointed that for the most part, except for Udyr, they chose completely popular Meta champs. :-/ New game mode, nothing but fun on the line, Bilgewater related event, and nobody STILL wants to play Miss Fortune, it makes me sad.

Of course everyone gets frustrated. The majority of the playerbase is male, and the Broken Toy Experiment (along with experience and observation in life) tells us that males reflexively, compulsively deny responsibility when things go wrong.

But not everyone turns into a verbal abuser at the drop of a hat. Not every single person is nice, and that's a lesson you learn throughout life without any help from LoL. What you seem to be missing is that not every single person out in the real world is a bile-spewing, spiteful bigot, either.

If you want to talk about life lessons, let's start with the lesson that out in the real world (as in jobs, higher education, and careers) verbal abuse, harassment, sexism, and slurs/epithets are not tolerated and can be circumstantially illegal. "Kids" need to learn an actual life lesson about holding your tongue and controlling your temper. "You should toughen up and get thicker skin" doesn't get you jack or shit with a zero tolerance HR policy and the EEOC.

When a group of players irrationally hunts down and kills Ekko over and over and calls themselves a lynch mob getting revenge on Obama in effigy, it's not the Ekko player that has a lesson to learn.

If I recall correctly, the Broken Toy Experiment was performed on children, irrespective of gender, therefore, what does gender have to do with denial of responsibility?

Hey. I logged back in right before you left. I'll be on for a while, was just offline trying to do some stuff.

Girls mostly said "I'm sorry," and boys mostly said "I didn't do it!" That's an over-generalization, but that's the jist of it. Other study results have shown a tendency for boys to blame teachers for bad grades, blame their boss when they're fired or underpaid, blame the government for things not done by the government, and blame their parents when they are punished.

I'll have to search for that bit about where the female children apologized and the male ones denied responsibility because I remember them recording various reactions but nothing gender specific because as far as reactions go, personal experience dictates that everyone's as prone to denying responsibility based on their own temperament or if their behaviour falls into the antisocial spectrum borderlining sociopathy.

So what are the other studies you speak of, I'd like to look them up.

Not everybody works for the government to have a zero tolerance policy, unions, and EEOC to cry to about when someone looks at them the wrong way. Government jobs are an absolute joke, which seems like what you are describing here, and people will push the boundaries of this "zero tolerance" as far as they can stretch because they have a false sense of security instilled in them by the people who get them out of trouble for everything. In these jobs there is verbal harassment, people not carrying their load, huge amounts of racism and I'm talking about from black people as you seem to only see the other way around, and you just have to deal with it. Complaining only gets your singled-out and makes every one of these things pushed further to the boundaries.

Not everyone gets to get babysat in their life, and not everyone is born with a silver spoon in their mouth as apparently you are. Sometimes people have to either make the choice to stand up for themselves or just get run over every time the "truck" passes by. There's nothing wrong with developing a little confidence, strength, courage, and being self-sufficient by being able to handle your own business instead of crying "I need an adult!! I need a teacher!! I need a police officer!!" so they can come pat you on the back and wag their finger at someone else. People frankly need to grow a pair and with this system, they never will.

By the way the only two people who weren't fuming at the mouth were basically Kobe and Rivington, and this shows that 8/10 people in any given game are frustrated and toxic. To everyone saying this is scripted, no it wasn't at all. This was intense frustration with people not wanting to play with others on their team because they felt like they "sucked." Stop trying to justify their toxicity by saying it was part of the script. Some people are so blindly in love with Riot they will do anything to justify when they do something wrong.

Your obvious lack of employment law tells me you have little experience with it. Contrary to your assumption, the EEOC has jurisdiction over all employers and employees covered under Title VII, not just the government and unions. Almost every corporate employer has mandatory EEOC training for employees, so virtually anyone who's held a job knows how basic this is.

Basically everything in your post is wrong assumptions based on a factually incorrect foundation. Suffice to say that being a negative, hateful bitch will probably get you fired faster than it gets you banned in LoL. Your "teaching life lessons" notion is backward.

Its a shame there's too much Lyte drones on LOL who will refuse to admit this and expect people to be robots when they play. Heres hoping theyll bring tribunal back.
