Buff Ryze please, he's not strong enough. He can only solo 4 members of a team including vayne/tank.

Can we please make it where his Q doesn't exponential damage for every time you land a consecutive one within 10 seconds.

While I know I'm on the shit end of this, he really didn't start getting bitched about until this week, because the pros picked up on him. While I understand that this is bound to happen with any champ, It still frustrates me how quickly people will shift.

Urgot got what, one change to his shield? Not complained about in the slightest.

Until he saw lcs play.

Exactly. The forums are sheep and the LCS is their shepherd.

GundayMonday1 votes

Totally agree and upvoted. Still, when you see a champion played correctly by the #LCSBigPlays Shepards as they move you along the road to enlightenment, then maybe you realize how ridiculously broken the champ is even if you didn't see it at first. Still probably needs a slight nerf so you can't perma stun someone for 12s! :-)

Mandang02 votes

Oh, for sure - I'm not saying people are wrong to call him too strong now... they were just too quick to declare him weak earlier.

Definitely!

Ryze also got buffed .-.

Ryze so friggin hard to solo penta man, needs buffs hard

MLDzXnRRR3 votes

Ryze has low range and if he messes his combo he can't cast anything, If you kite him, he can't combo too... He must land spells to get cdr and continue doing dmg, but because of his range, he can't, if you run from him and nuke him from a far distance. Also people don't build him too tanky anymore.

Randomonium1 votes

You do realize he can just throw Q's out and it still gives him stacks of his passive. He doesn't have to hit anyone with it. Its also very hard to mess up point and click abilities like his W and E.

There's a reason why Ryze dominated LCS this week.

Again, abuse his pathetic early game where he burns mana and his items do absolutely nothing until fully built.

How are you supposed to abuse it when you are snared for all eternity? :^)

W max makes that strategy harder.

Okay, you're apparently fairly new to LoL, seeing as you're not even level 30, so I'll cut you some slack. Usually, I would only consider you a troll and tell you to fuck off in a creative way, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're simply new to this game and can't figure out how to deal with certain champions. Here are a few ways to deal with Ryze:

  1. Build Magic Resistance. Seriously, so many people seem to forget this stat exists nowadays. If you don't build any then don't ask yourself why the Ryze who was allowed to skip void staff is wrecking you.

  2. When laning against him, stand behind minions. His Q is a skillshot and it stops at the first thing it hits. Putting your minions between him and you will go a long way towards stopping the bullying.

  3. Treat him like a fighter, not like a true mage. Imagine Garen: Would you try and go toe to toe with that? No. You'd kite him. You'd have your tanks peeling for you. You'd do everything you can to stay away from him. Do the same with Ryze.

  4. If you do get caught by him, don't try to run. Instead, do as much damage as you can before you die. Many people make this mistake with fighters: They're slowed or rooted and they try to run when they can't get away, so instead of doing as much damage as possible before dying and hoping their teammates can finish the job, they just impotently try to run away and do no damage while still dying.

  1. Ryze comes with innate magic resist shred. Building against that is sub optimal, and since he's got such low cooldowns, you can't even really punish him even if you survive his full combo. The best way to counter him is to wait out his passive and all in him when his counter resets.

  2. Spell flux punishes you for standing in your own minions. On top of that, the particular build that caused all of this was maxing his snare, so it doesn't matter where you're standing.

  3. You can't kite when you're permanently snared. That's the whole problem that has come up since the LCS. Once he gets his ult and has a decent mana pool, he'll snare you for 6 seconds straight, hitting you with a 125+.4AP+.025mana damage nuke every second of it, plus any other spells he can throw in there.

  4. Sure, I'll give you this one, but that doesn't do a thing when you're in a solo lane. He'll just be a bit less on health when he backs to buy with your blood money.

  5. Leading things off with an insult and calling out his level as an indicator of his knowledge is rude, and has earned you a report.

Akesgeroth2 votes

It is not rude, it is the truth. His post sounds like a troll but can be easily explained by a lack of experience with the game, which is why I posted these suggestions. And for the record, fake reports are frowned upon.

I took a peek at your match history... And it looks like you haven't played against a Ryze recently.

You had one on your team a few matches ago that went 11/3. Against a Tryndamere.

While it is rather strange that you essentially pick whether you want to dodge the Q skillshot by standing in minions or get punished for standing in minions by his E, the issue is that he can permanently root you until you die. No amount of resistances is going to help that.

Further, your #4 actually made me facepalm. If you get caught by him, you're not going to get the chance to do any damage... Because you're permanently rooted.

Your comments show that you obviously don't know the first thing about what's going on with Ryze, so get out of the thread please.

Wiggle Dat Butt1 votes

It's funny seeing some sissy fanboy like you try to justify him being able to snare someone for 15 seconds straight. Take this reply and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.

Did you miss any of the LCS showings of Ryze? Yesterday Ryze 1v2'd a Vayne and Maokai despite them playing it as best as they possibly could. Maokai blocked Ryze Q's, Vayne flash condemned him into a wall, Maokai did his best to peel for her in the 1v2

Vayne had QSS, Maokai had Spectres cowl which was the best they could do in their losing position. That's totally fair. Yep. No issues here, guys.

i saw a ryze perma snare a full hp irelia top lane to death one time on his new rework. I felt so dirty i had to take a shower. She was even 2 levels ahead of him because he died. He hit six and was 90% mana pool instant killed her from full to dead with full hp. I'm not even fucking lieing to you. Was like. oh god gross.' all I had to do was smite her with chilling and she fucking died like what the fyuck is he now my god.

Wiggle Dat Butt1 votes

Everyone saw it, it happened in LCS-- Seraph vs. Gamsu... Gamsu solo'd him without taking a hit and Irelia couldn't move the whole time. 100-0.

Ryze early game is really strong because he does quite a bit of damage and is ranged. So this is a problem because ryze scales into infinity so either they need to gut his early game damage or gut his range more.

If they gut his range any more than they did a while back he's going to be melee before long. Jokes aside, his early game isn't that damage heavy if you A) Stand behind Braum minions or B) If he maxes Spell Flux, just don't stand on top of your creep wave and let it keep bouncing off your face, the range of it is displayed on the ground at least when you play as him, so go into customs and figure out the bounce range then abuse it.
