It means that AD Assassins can't go mid. Why? Because mages have CC. It would mean that every time after a Syndra, Viktor, Annie, Leblanc etc hit 6, and they had ult up, they would delete the assassin. Let's be honest. Mages are strong AF. There has literally never been a season where mages were weak. They have bursts, they have cc, they have AoE spells. Going 2 vs. a mage is already hard but going 1 vs. a mage with no shield from hexdrinker would be death. Mage mains be logical and stop getting blinded by hate.

Cos MR is a joke? Lool. Base MR on Yasuo for example is 30. 30 MR. Fcking Joke. His armor at lvl 18 is 82.5 so let's say 83. Some champs get to 53 MR but that's pretty much it. With mages surpassing the 500 AP mark with ease and some having AP scalings of 50% - 100%, it's not rocket science to deduce that Kata will thrive in mid lane. AP vs. AP. The fight to see who has the faster burst.

Edit: And fun fact, Kata has the highest base MR. Lool. Go figure.

Maybe because yas already has a shield, CC, more CC, and a wall that can block every AP skillshot that exist. He could have 0 MR and still do better than a kat (he can windwall her ulti, )

A shield that takes on AA to remove. And then he has to walk around like an idiot to get it back. But wait, wait. Naut has a shield. He has 4 cc abilities (passive included), and he is tanky AF but he still gains MR. So your logic is clearly flawed. Try again.

Yasuo getting a 5 man ult is VERY rare. Any elo above gold knows not to group against certain comps that benefit Yasuo. You keep bringing up bronze scenarios. Try again.

The point is that for the past few days, people have been complaining about AD assassins and Anti-AP AD items. This thread was explaining why certain items are made available.

Most champions start with almost no armour at all. Have you seen the starting armour on most mages, before runes?

The mage with the highest base armour at level 1 is Morgana at ~25. Most have less than that. Lux has under 19 armour. Compare that to MR, where every champion has 30, and most mêlée champions start at 32.1 and scale from there.

Eventually, armour scaling, even on mages, does (generally) outstrip MR scaling, but physical damage dealers have a huge advantage in terms of mitigation early-game. For example, on Lux, her base armour scaling finally overtakes Talon's base MR scaling at level 8.

Huge, you say. Runes make up for it. You could say AD champs get MR runes but like you realized, they'll generally get outscaled after some levels. Mages have the dmg and if you throw in that magic pen, then MR becomes even more useless. Also Lethality is pure garbage meaning no smart players choses lethality runes. So basically, Yasuo has 30 MR all game. The enemy syndra has 10 magic pen meaning Yas has 20. You see where this is going? It's almost as low as Lux's.

MR runes are stronger than armour runes, too. They are 134% as powerful.

So, again, starting defences favour AD champions. A lux with full armour runes has 28 armour, while a Talon with full MR runes has 44. Even with the -8 from magic pen runes, that's still 36 MR vs 28 armour. The Talon could also choose to take armour pen / lethality runes instead of flat AD - he just doesn't because the flat AD is stronger due to mages having such low armour.

Also, Yasuo has 30 MR all game because he has an insanely large shield, a dash that invalidates most skillshots, and a windwall that can invalidate almost everything. He's also not an AD assassin, so he doesn't count as an example of anything. Stick with Talon.

"Insanely large". Meanwhile lux can shield herself and her allies for over 100 HP at rank 1. Or should we talk about Viktor's Q? And they all last wayyy more than Yasuo's. Well the dash can't invalidate AoE spells which most spells have. And his windwall is easy to bait. Secondary role is Slayer (assassin) (Also iirc he used to be primarily an assassin). 36 MR vs 28 Armor but like I've said, AP values are CLEARLY higher than AD and many champions have above 50% AP ratios on their abilities. Compare a 300 AD Talon to a 600 AP Syndra. Who kills faster? When you answer that question, you'll understand.
