So how do you die as Gnar?

So anyone that has given him some time and love for gameplay knows he's not as easy as Garen to pick up and beat people with. I personally have died in some of the easiest fashions ever, where a lot of other champions would have escaped. It made me laugh a lot...with pain.

So to even get ahold of where to even improve this guy, we kinda have to get a feel about where he dies. Allow me to begin.

I am caught in the jungle freshly out of mega form. I am being chased by a blood thirsty Talon out for blood. If I keep moving, I can probably outrun him. I move with haste to the safety of my turret. My fingers twitch with the anxiety at the possibility that I will feed a snowball-ish assassin.

I am almost to the turret. Oh, if only I moved faster! I am passing the wraith camps and into a safe bush...I might make it. No, I will. Talon will not be able to catch me, he doesn't have vision. I will make it.

What? In my panic I accidentally moved one simple twitch backward...no matter. I am still almost to the turret. He cannot catch me. My Boomerang hit him when I first started running. Surely, he would not...

NO!! He is still behind me! I am just on the border of the turret! No Flash! My Hop is down! I must believe!!!!

Talon : That's as far as you go. Gnar : GNA-GNAAA, GNA-GNAAAA, GNA GNAAAAAA! (You'll never catch my you futuristic plebeian! I have survived through permanently frozen ice! I am unstoppable!)

That was the last time Gnar was ever in the jungle alone with an enemy nearby.

Give your experiences! Maybe spice it by exaggerating stretching the truth a bit...but leave the core reason out in the open! It doesn't have to be a story either!

I looked at an Irelia.

Then I saw a gray screen.

I was first time Graves adc, against a Gnar adc, at one point, support and I were chasing gnar to purple bot tribush, gnar has 100 health, and he makes the lethal mistake of Hopping on Best Wraith NA, goes over him, 2 seconds later "YOU HAVE SLAIN AN ENEMY"

The thrill of the hunt ran through me, and I leaped upon my prey. He dodged through the brush, but I caught him with my boomerang. Wounded, he faltered and I leapt upon him, crunching him into the ground. As I was about to kill him, savoring the thrill, he trollpooled.

And then, as i watched my plan fall to pieces around me, I died, transfusioned to death.

Any sort of cc/ immunity that stops him from proccing his w, reduces his damage so much that you will lose trades. Also simple lack of experience with gnar has led me to make some unfavorable decisions.

I'll write this from the point-of-view of a Gnar-killer. I don't have him (I do like him, but I like Riven more.) :)

So the yordle steps onto the battlefield and meets me in the toplane. His fur is fuzzy and he seems harmless as a chipmunk. His dancing is kind of cute, but this is a battle. My blade will taste his blood.

The laning phase begins. Legions of sub-boss Veigars rush past us at two miles-an-hour. As they begin their ritualistic mindless bashing of skulls I run in to lay waste the blue fiends on the yordle's team. Catching a few, I realize he has a boomerang. As he throws it, I dodge it with a sidestep. It crushes my minions, but it doesn't worry me. He has to hit me first.

As he tries to get in range to keep up with my cs, he gets dangerously close. I snowball. I was nerfed for doing it too well. Even now though, that instinct is there. He panics and tries to keep up, trying to disrupt me with that hilarious toy boomerang of his, but he makes the mistake of being too close. With a single three-hit-combo I cleave through his minions, catching what he tried to deny, and by the third strike, hammer him to the ground. As he transforms into a monstrous beast, I dash away in my shield. My poke rattled him and I wait him out.

Once the beast returns to his hobbit-sized form, I surprise him by not leading with my sword strikes. I dash in my shield and he tries to slow me, but to no avail. I'm already upon him. I hit him with a powerful strike and stun him with a ki blast. My prey has realized his mistake by this point, but it's too late to run or all-in. I call for my complete sword and finish the combo. As he tries to run, my wind slash cuts him down. The yordle never stood a chance.

Next time he comes in-lane, I have an Ignite waiting for him.
