I'm literally crying right now. I don't have words to describe how much I hate everything about soloq and the broken ranked system. Sometimes I just can't fucking stand League of Legends.

EDIT STATUS UPDATE: my very first game on my climb back to Gold has an AFK. I hate this game. I HATE THIS GAME

You played ranked at gold v 0 LP? What in the shit did you think was going to happen? The ranked system is suffering and Riot should be nailed to the wall for the league system but this is 100% on you. Gold iv 0 LP here and I'm not fucking touching ranked again until preseason. I'm not getting to plat so why even risk it? Riot can't troll the shit out of you if you don't let them!

Not that gold even matters, Victorious Sivir? They would have to hire a team of consultants to find a more boring "reward".

I was under the impression it was very difficult to be demoted an entire rank.

There's also supposed to be even some kind of grace period between divisions.

The number of 1st loss 0 lp demotions I've had is absurd.

If Riot was concerned about any of this game's numerous problems it would be a completely different game. You simply can't trust a company with such misplaced priorities.

Yeah I've learned my lesson. Absolutely no more soloq once I'm Gold again.

Cowards. You can climb back into Gold if you get demoted.

You get like 5 games, before you can get demoted. Whether thats wins or losses.

Not true.

This happened to me earlier this season. I think it's all about how & who you're winning/losing against. Winning against lower leveled people doesn't mean as much as losing against higher leveled people. I played a lot with a buddy of mine who was S4 at the time, and even though I would win lane 99% of the time, we would throw games and lose to teams we shouldn't lose to, eventually making my MMR very bad. So even though I would win more games than I would lose, I was net losing LP and eventually dropped to S1.item 3070 item 3070 item 3070

Don't lose hope though, when you lose, try and remember different times in the game when you messed up, and analyze mistakes when you win, and it's easy to get back to gold (after I was S1, I'm now almost to G3 after a few weeks of play).

Scanning through your games it seems pretty obvious why you got demoted - the average mmr in your games is about S2/S3. You've probably been floating around G5 0 LP for a while and your MMR has slowly dropped.

my mmr drops but i win more than i lose

thats a problem with riot not me

I pretty much stopped playing ranked when I got to Silver 1, proceeded to have two trolls in my first four matches, and got demoted back to Silver 2. Fuck Riot and their joke of a ranked system. It's way too luck based in the short-term. Maybe long-term it all balances out, but short-term bad luck is enough to get you demoted after a couple games. Meanwhile getting promoted takes a considerable win streak in most cases. And the classic "carry harder" take only applies if you are way better than your rank. I consistently play better than a lot of golds I face but I'm not platinum level or probably even high gold level in my skill and I know it. I also don't play hard carry champs generally which doesn't help. Being expected to solo carry matches in a team based game is bogus.

Not at all.

The amount by which a given win/loss raises/drops your MMR depends on the composite MMRs of the teams. It's entirely possible to win slightly more than 50% of your games and drop your MMR.
