Vayne Lategame Help!

12 max%HP true damage every 3 autos. Great Yes. I get it. Vayne is supposed to be a hyper carry. However, I find her lategame quite ridiculous, as there is no way of surviving her onslaught.... without killing her. In several cases, against and with her, if the game stalls to lategame, she will carry. Her kit in general is unhealthy, but I guess that's what makes Vayne the hypercarry she can be. Her laning can be fairly easy, as her kit can allow her to play extremely passive, survive ganks, and play aggressively. Compare her laning to Twitch, another hypercarry. Hopefully you didn't stop reading this post and down vote it because I am complaining about Vayne.

I have one question... How do you beat her lategame? Tanks are almost entirely useless because she plows straight through them. Perhaps someone like Xerath's or Syndra's range could poke her down and allow your team to push? There are also team comps called "protect the Vayne" which are REALLY annoying to fight against. Are there any team comps that counter Vayne?

Tips to beat Vayne in the lategame?

Do whatever you can to CC her and kill her. If she's very fed, it's worth it. Flash-CC, Naut ult, LB assassinate, Lux nuke her, whatever.

This is important. I usually run Ghost on Volibear but when I see a Vayne on the enemy team, I switch to Flash in case she gets fed. She has to die fast, and I know I can't afford to run my ass over to her, getting CC'd and kited. Have to Flash and kill her fast.

Contrary to popular belief, tanks aren't useless against a Vayne. Even with %maxHP true damage. Say you have 1000 health and 0 armor and she smacks you with an auto for 500 and Silver Bolts for 12%. That's 500 phys + 120 true = You have 380 left and another auto will kill you.

Say you have 4000 health and 100 armor and she tries the same thing. That's 250 phys + 480 true = You have 3270 left and it's gonna take a LOT more to kill you.

Or just ban her. She's pretty broken after all ;D

superior positioning. plan ahead. the same thing a vayne player has to do. do it better. As a vayne main, i notice the tank is always going way out of position to try and duel me and he always loses. that's an assassin's job. you also need to pick the right carries against her. This "omg pick draven or X non-late game counter pick" crap really doesn't help since their immobility/lack of scaling makes them a liability late game. you either need to end the game before she gets 6 items, or have a hyper carry yourself.

Vayne's short range and the fact that all of her damage come from auto attacks only make her really susceptible to AOEs. Lux and Viktor are perfect examples. one spell from them late game and half her health or more is gone. Also you don't always need to go balls to the wall diving her. she has 4 other teammates you know? as long as she's not hitting anyone, she's not doing damage. Basically, you need to learn how teamfights actually work, not this tunnel vision the enemy adc while we all get killed by the mid laner...or said adc outplays 3 people.

I know it's bad to get to lategame against her, and too many times do games stall against/with her and she almost always carries. It seems if you don't have a wombo combo team comp, or super bursty AoE you can't beat her. I have seen Corki's shut her down snowball and carry really hard though...

Teamwork and coordination is the key to killing Vayne lategame. Don't try to duel her. She has to be in aa-range to do anything, so when she's close lock her down with CC and focus fire her.

Crowd control and she should be what your team focuses first in teamfights

I'd guess coordination with a mage and a Braum shield (you get the point, something to stop her from killing the mage) is what you need to kill her. She'll be able to 3~4 shot squishies with her ult and an IE+BT+whatever, and that takes next to no time with her tumble and PD or Stattik.

If she builds PD, this is a lot harder so you'll need to hard CC her, but to compensate she can't kill your squishies as easily. If she has Stattik just try to tank her attack while keeping her on you. She needs to attack you, which is why I said Braum. She can easily kill your mage and then outduel you otherwise.

You know what they say, the best CC is death.
