botane diversity concept
In toplane, we have fighters, tanks, a couple marksmen, and a few durable mages In midlane, we have mostly mages and assassins In the jungle, we have pretty much anyone who can not die while clearing In support, we have tanks, healers, and the occasional full AP "support"
The 5th role is ADC. It is comprised of Marksmen and Mordekaiser.
Botlane carry role concepts, with champions that could fit the theme (in some cases, after some changes to their kits)
Marksman Reliable high damage from long range. Cait, Jinx, MF.
Scout Reliable high damage from short range, but coupled with mobility. Scouts will generally outdamage Marksman. Vayne, Kalista, Quinn, Teemo
Magus Long ranged, low mobility (but not necessarily immobile) mages with high damage. They tend to be skill shot based. Vel'Koz, Xerath, Karma, Azir.
Runners Melee carries who have low CC, but deal devastating damage to anyone they get on while having some means to remain alive in their kit. Mordekaiser, Master Yi, Tryndamere.
Enchanters A true carry support. While they deal less damage than any of the above roles, or at least need help to get it off, any allies near them will be turned into living gods by the buffs they provide, possibly to the extent of your teams regular support be a major damage source. Strictly speaking, not a carry role, but hey. I like to support my support so he can support like a real support. If it turns out that it was a bad idea for a given game, you can switch to being a regular support later in champion select. Janna, Zilean, Sona, Taric
Let us return to the season 1 meta, where EVERYTHING was a thing.

and she's still good lategame. Sure I can't get kills, but her W makes enough problems in teamfights to be useful.
