Hey everyone, i found a way to conciliate all the differents playstyles on Karma
Hello guys, i know Karma have been a problem for a long time. I've seen many treads on her on these boards and a lot of people said they didn't like the actual Karma and they would like to bring back the old kit. I don't know what her old kit is like because I’ve never known old Karma, only saw her in youtubes videos.
I only know this Karma who is for me, one of the best champs in the game. Karma is a very funny champ. A lot of people say she has no personality but it's false! I like the fact that she has so many playstyles... Tell me another name of champ that can be played bot, top, mid and even jungle? Karma is so versatile. I wish her Q could do improved dmg on jungle monsters so she could jungle again.
Being versatile doesn't mean having no "personality". For me, it's fit Karma perfectly to have a lot of playstyles. She is a strong, empowered women with a strong mind (her W), a strong spirit and magic (her Q) and a good heart (her E).
Karma is a very powerful woman; she wants to help her people and protect peace.
Mage Karma enhance her "magical power" spirit. Support Karma enhance her "strong and beautiful heart". Tank Karma enhance her "strong mind and will".
I would like Karma to keep her actual kit but changing the numbers to fill all the playstyles without being too strong. Also, I put back her shieldbomb and her W on allies to make everyone happy.
My goal is to satisfy everyone !!

Passive : Gathering fire

Reduces Mantra's cooldown each time Karma damages an enemy champion with one of her abilities (Half-effect for Karma's basic attacks)
New : Karma also gains specials effects on her spells depending on the build she has.
Building pure tanks items ( tank supp items including) armor, magic resist and HP will enhance Karma tank playstyle. Karma abilities will benefit from HP, armor and magic resist ratios.
Building pure mage items will enhance Karma mage playstyle. Karma abilities will benefit from bonus AP, Mana and CDR.
Building pure supports items or items who have interactions with teammates will enhance Karma support playstyle. Karma abilities will benefit from mana regen, HP, AP, CDR and Heal/Shield improved ratios. Also shielding people with Karma support procs gathering fire depending on the number of persons you shielded.
Building pure AD items will enhance Karma AD build (ADC or AD). Karma abilities will benefit from the bonus AD and the bonus attack speed ratios.
Having a smite and building the jungle item will enhance Karma jungle, making her abilities deal more dmg to monsters. Then it's depend on which items Karma takes. She can decide to go more tanky, more AP, support, even AD... Jungle Karma only add a bonus dmg on monster for a better clear. The rest is same as the 4 others paths.
Inner flame Q

Fires a blast of energy that explodes upon enemy contact, dealing 60/100/140/180/220 base magic damage and slowing Movement Speed by 35% for 1.5 seconds. The dmg is improved by 100% on monsters if Karma has smite and a jungle item and Karma Q refund 50% of his cost on monsters only)
Mantra Bonus - Soulflare: Deals 40/60/80/100 (depend on lvl of mantra) additional magic damage and leaves a circle of flame that slows enemies by 35%. After 1.25 seconds the circle erupts, dealing 60/100/140/180/220 + 40/60/80/100 (depend on lvl of mantra) base magic damage to enemies in the area.
With mage build : Karma get a 45% AP ratio on the blast and the circle. The bonus dmg on the lvl of mantra is affected by a 20% AP ratio.
With a tank build : Karma get a 5/5,5/6/6,5/7% HP ratio on the blast and the circle. The bonus dmg on the lvl of mantra is divided by 2. Karma also heal for the number of enemies hit by this spell. She regains 2/2,5/3/3,5/4% of her max HP per enemies hit. It's applies on the blast and on the circle. So if Inner flame is enhanced by mantra, Karma will be able to regen twice if she can keep enemies in her circle.
With a support build : Karma get a 35% AP ratio on the blast and the circle. The bonus dmg on the lvl of mantra is divided by 2. Karma slows are improved to 55%. Karma Souflare circle also heals Karma and teammates who are standing on it for 150/200/250/300 and the heal has a 100% mana regen ratio (for 200% bonus mana regen, you gain 200 flats heal).
With an adc build or AD : Karma Q can deal critical dmg depending on the critical hit chances. The width of the projectile is divided by 2 but the range is doubled, it's will look like a Cait Q. The dmg is converted into physical dmg. She gains a 20% bonus AD ratio on the blast and the circle. The bonus dmg on the lvl of mantra is the same. The slow is reduced to 10% and the CD is the double of the actual CD. Karma won't spam her Q as often as she would do in her others builds. It's will also be harder to hit the projectile because of the reduced width. The circle can also deal critical dmg.

Links Karma to an enemy champion or monster, granting True Sight and dealing 40/55/70/85/100 base magic damage. If the link is unbroken for 2 seconds, the target is rooted for 1.4/1.55/1.7/1.85/2 second(s) and takes an additional 40/55/70/85/100 base magic damage. If Karma has smite and a jungle item, she will convert the dmg she receive from the linked monster to healing. For example, a Krug who is dealing 15 dmg to Karma, will heal her for 15 is he is linked to her and attack her. Mantra Bonus - Renewal: The root duration is increased by 0,5/0,75/1/1,25 second(s) if the link is not broken. The special effect depends on the build.
**With a mage build: ** Add a 25% AP ratio on both dmg parts and the base range is increased by 150. On the mantra bonus effect, Karma takes 25/30/35/40% reduced dmg from the target she is linked to.
With a tank build : Don’t add dmg but grant a heal on both parts of the link. Karma can heal herself for 25/30/35/40% of her max HP on each dmg parts.
With a support build : Add a 15% AP ratio on both dmg parts and the base range is increased by 150. Karma reduce the dmg deal by the enemy linked by 5/7,5/10/12,5%.
Karma can also tether allies, granting them a small heal (40/55/70/85/100 on both parts) to them and herself. If she uses her mantra W on an ally, they will gain a 5/7,5/10/12,5% reduction dmg for the duration of the tether.
With an AD build : Karma link a target, the dmg is removed, there is no more root. The base range is improved by 100. Karma gains 10/12,5/15/17,5/20% AS per AA on the linked target and she can stack this AS bonus on an unlimited way as long the link is present, and she is attacking the linked target. The link can last to 10s and Karma can exceed the AS limit while being linked to another champ.
The AS bonus keep on going for 6s after the link broke or after the end of the link or the death of the enemy you linked.

Target ally gains a shield, granting 40/45/50/55/60% Movement Speed for 1.5 seconds and absorbing 80/110/140/170/200 base damage for 2.5 seconds. If Karma has smite and a jungle item, the shield will send back 20% of the dmg deal by the monsters to them. Mantra Bonus - Defiance: The shield overflows with energy, adding a special effect depending on Karma build and adding 50/100/150/200 HP to the shield.
With a mage build : Add a 30% AP ratio on the base shield and the bonus HP on mantra is divided by 2. Under mantra, the shield is a shieldbomb that deal 120/180/240/300 + 65% AP magic dmg to nearby enemies. You can place the shield on minions. With a tank build : Add a 100% armor and 100% magic resist ratio to the base shield and 20/30/40/50/60 HP on the base shield. Under mantra, the bonus HP is doubled (50/100/150/200 to 100/200/300/400) but only if Karma shield herself. If Karma shield an ally, he will benefit from a small armor and magic resist bonus instead of having the double HP bonus. The small amor and magic resist bonus is 10/15/20/25. If the shield break or end, the bonus will disappear. With a support build : Add a 150% mana regen ratio the base shield (means 100% bonus mana regen will grant 150 flat HP). The movement speed bonus duration is increased to 2s and the shield can last for 4s instead of 2,5s. Under mantra, Karma enhance the main shield by adding 40/70/100/130 HP also shield nearby allies near to the shielded target for 40/45/50/55% HP of the main shield and give them the same movement speed bonus. Don’t forget that shields on Karma support build procs gathering fire. Look at the passive again if you don’t remember. With an Ad/adc build : Karma shield is no longer a shield but a spirit force field who reduces the dmg taken by 10/12,5/15/17,5/20% for 4s and the movement speed bonus duration is 2s like in Support build. Add a passive to the spell: Grant 5/7,5/10/12,5/15% lifesteal. Under mantra, the spirit force field send back 12,5/15/17,5/20% of the dmg you receive to your attackers. (Like a Rammus W but also proc for spells).
Ultimate: Mantra Karma empowers her next ability to do an additional effect. Mantra is available at level 1 and does not require a skill point.
If Karma took the support path, then Mantra will have 2 stacks, meaning Karma can use 2 empowered abilities at the same time.
TO SUMP UP :
This Karma is way better. I keep all the playstyles people like because Karma has a divided community, but I also put her old bombshield on the mage gameplay and her ally tether on support gameplay.
Mage Karma will be powerful with a lot of dmg but she will be squishy. She will be able to shoot powerful blasts with her Q, played like a battle mage with her W and her shieldbomb is back for the fun of people who loved this spell. The range of the tether is improved because she is squishy. One of the biggest problems on the actual Karma is that her W is too short to be correctly used when she is a mage.
Tank Karma will be tanky with a lot of heal and big shield but she won’t have the dmg of mage Karma and the utility of support Karma. She will be funny for you and annoying for your opponents who will have a lot of trouble to kill you.
Support Karma will be very useful, she will have improved slows, heals, powerful shields but also a possibility of tethering her teammate. Also, the gathering fire procs on shields meaning that Karma support will often have her Mantra which is what I wanted. Support Karma will be more able to use her ulti than the other Karmas. That why she will be very useful, and she will not simply be “a worse version of AP or tank version”. No, support Karma is unique now and she has true strengths that other forms don’t have.
Adc or Ad Karma will be fun, a new way of discovering a champ that is traditionally AP. Karma will be able to snipe with her Q, having a lot of AS with her W and she can send back the dmg she takes to the enemies with her E.
To finish, jungle Karma will be possible, and you will be able to play Tank, Mage, AD or Support jungle Karma as long you have the smite and the special jungle item.
I really think my rework is good. Maybe the numbers would need some change but the playerbase will be satisfied because I keep the actual Karma but depending on her build, I added and removed some effects. Each Karma will have her own strengths and own weaknesses.
And I like this Karma because she can fit every role. She is versatile and it’s really fit with her personality. Maybe the AD build is crazy but why not after all? I think people should look at Karma like she is champ who can fit any role, any playstyle. She is versatile and we like her because you can always do something with her. You can poke, you can shield, you can heal, you can dps, you can burst, you can boost MS, you can reduce dmg taken, you can push, you can farm, you can trade, you can tank, you can jungle, you can go top, mid, bot, adc… I think we need at least to have a polyvalent champ in League of Legends and Karma would be the best for that because she has many different fan bases.
You riot, you are struggling hard to satisfy everyone and I have the solution. Make everyone satisfied with her. Allow her to be tanky, to be squishy, to be AP, to jungle, to be an AD carry or a support. She will have an identity. She will be the aspect of versatility.
Offer the player, the liberty of choosing the path he wants for Karma. She will be the best champion in League of Legends because no matter what path you take, you choose it and you will enjoy it. She will be the best champ to OTP because you will be able to swap playstyles. Isn’t that amazing? And the balance will be easier because each path is determined by the builds. If tank Karma is too strong, nerf her ratios. You don’t need to nerf the whole champ, only the path that is too strong.
If jungle is too strong, you can nerf the bonus on the spells that affects monsters. You don’t need to nerf a spell to make another playstyle useless like the current AP Karma. You nerfed her Q ratio and now she is weaker, but you wanted to nerf Tank and support Karma, not her AP mid playstyle. You failed because every change you do on Karma, affects the other playstyles.
Here, everything is separated. A change that you make on a path, don’t change things for the other paths unless you nerf the base dmg or base effects of the spells. It’s way easier to balance this because each style doesn’t interact with each other. A same spell doesn’t have the same dmg or same effect because the playstyles are different.
And please people, support me <3, we need Riot to look at this idea because Karma is an amazing champ for all the fans bases and no one want to lose his Karma. I’m convinced that these changes will help her to shine again and to find a healthy place. I’m convinced that this rework can satisfy everyone. You loved your shieldbomb Karma? You got it! You wanted to tether teammates? You got it! You wanted to keep the tank playstyle? You got it! You wanted to jungle? No problem, you can! You want to adc ? Ofc dude, you can!
With this Karma, you can do everything! You can play her like you want. I’m sure if you could play this Karma, you would love it because you would never be bored of playing her.
