Evelynn rework has massive design flaws

As a former Evelynn main with mastery 7 on her, let me tell you my two cents about how I feel about her, and as you could tell from reading the title, you know it won't be very positive ...

First of all, removing her passive early stealth and delaying it to level 6 without giving her some sort of compensation severely damages her gank reliability. Sure, the heal is nice, but such a passive would be more appropriately suited for champions that power farm as opposed to champions that gank heavily, which appears to be what Riot is inappropriately suggesting with her new passive. Removing yourself from a battle and healing up to continue farming certainly helps her sustain and farm, but assassins, junglers especially, need to focus on picks early in order to snowball, and by farming too often, you're not doing that; I would trade her heal to have her invisibility at all levels any day.

... Which leads me to her kit, and suffice to say, her reliability has certainly taken a huge toll. The Q changes are mostly alright, solving the issue with effortless spam, but I don' like the W, and it' primarily because it's utterly pointless for ganks before level 6. She suffers from Kindred-syndrome where she essentially blares her headlights and sirens, giving away her intentions like "Look out guys, I'm coming to gank you, prepare yourselves" ... Something you don't want to do especially as an ASSASSIN champion. The long ass cast range matters not because the only thing you can use to appropriately reach them in time before the charm times out is your Q, and with its long projectile speed, it's easy to miss, thus removing a huge part of your DPS; it's something you'd prefer to stick up close to guarantee.

Which leads me to her E, also rather pointless considering that the attractive feature, being the follow-up effect when empowered, is basically a nerfed, unreliable version of Warwick's Q. The difference that makes Warwick's follow up better is the remarkably spammy nature of his Q, which ensures that he'll tag along at least one movement option from his opponent, but in Evelynn, this window is so much tighter and less forgiving, not even mentioning the fact of how easy to is for her to be removed from stealth in the first place and thus render the empowered E unobtainable.

Finally, the heavily punishing and unforgiving R seals the coffin that is the Evelynn rework. Holy damn, I've never seen such a frustratingly self-punishing skill in this game up until now. While the gimmick of the invulnerable cast followed by the blink from behind sounds good on paper, in practice, so many things can go wrong with this "execute" ability that it hurts any chance of a follow-up since it is accompanied by a blink, pulling you AWAY from the target, so if they survive, you're sh*t out of luck. There's no second chance with this ability; if you miscalculate the damage, the empowered percentile, or they take preventative measures like heal or shield, that's it! Your gank is done. You failed. Go home. No kill for you.

Maybe some buffs to the cast range of her empowered E or making her blink on R ONLY when she scores a takedown would solve some of her reliability issues, but as of right now, everything she offers is so easily preventable by the enemy team with just a little bit of foresight.

Making the blink on r just on take down is a terrible idea. It prevents creative use of the skill, for example you can use it backwards as a gap closer.

That she doesn't turn invisible before level 6 is actually great, since it prevents her ganking you invisible before you get to buy a control ward.

Not eve main, but have played new eve

agree with Everything but last one. Feel like once people realize damage foresight it'll be absurdly good. Has a ridiculous base damage when their below 30%(up to 800 damage)

honestly assasins are supposed to have drawbacks.

yes u know eve is coming for you if she marks you but you don't know the direction until the last second

my main Nidalee has the same thing... except my "mark" isnt point and click, and i dont get a CC after i use it.

your uktimate looks amazing.. does it take skill? yeah... of course.. if you misscaculate do they survive? yeah.

guess what? on nid if i miscalculate... not only do they survive.. I DIE!!!

you can argue that i can do that at a 6 second cooldown while your ultimate has a much longer cooldown. and thats true.. but if you screw it up you need to wait for it to come off cooldown if i screw it up... i gave them a kill and i need to wait for a respawn timer.

thats the price for being able to go in often..

I actually see where this comes from, but still I think it´ll just take some time to get used to. New Warwick was kinda the same, people thought it was horrible how his ult was not only an easy-to-miss skillshot now, but its duration was also cut down.

I personally love Eve, and I´m thinking about making her my main jungler (btw Gangplank main here) , but it´s very different from the old stealthy mindgames you could make when the enemy didn´t even have one finished item, scary. I think she is a bit like Kha´zix. She probably is the most useful when concentrating on a lone target, perfect when squishy, and has practically the same tools, minus the slow in favor of situational but hard CC. Stealth on Lvl 6 (camouflage, yeah, but way easier to access than Kha´zix´ ult), a bursty Q that guarantees a Thunderlord´s proc, some sort of gap-closer on E and/or R.

TL;DR: I´d say give her some time, you´ll learn to love her with all the new stuff and curves (insert lenny-face).
